For analysis of the upcoming NFL Week 3 matchup between these teams, please check out our Thursday Night Football predictions.

As the regular season dawns its final moments, some games come with immense stakes and plenty of pressure. This one is more of a battle of determining draft position.

The Patriots play host to the Jets, two teams who had the season flipped upside down on themselves and will now come to a close. With some intriguing NFL Week 18 odds out and about, though, there are still some interesting wagers worth considering.

With both coaches on the hot seat, both quarterbacks potentially starting their last game with each team, and both organizations looking to end the year on a positive note, let’s dive into the action and find the best bets.

  • Spread: Patriots -1.5 (-106) • Jets +1.5 (-114)

  • Implied Score: Patriots 15.5, Jets 14.5

Jets vs Patriots Predictions

Score Pick: Patriots 17, Jets 9

This game should be a defensive affair; that much is clear. The Patriots’ defense ranks second in rush defense, which should be huge in limiting Breece Hall and, in turn, slowing down the Jets’ offensive production.

On the opposite sideline, the Jets have been great at creating turnovers in the passing game. That should limit the Patriots’ offensive opportunity and create turnovers that have haunted the team this season.

Jets vs Patriots Best Bets & Props

1st NYJ Drive: Punt (-135)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 2 units

An early wager with an early result is a great way to kick off the week, and it’s our NFL bet of the day. This season, the Jets have punted on their first drive 56% of the time.

Assuming they try to get Breece going early against one of the strongest run defenses in the league, that will leave a throw for the sticks by Trevor Siemian, who has been fairly ineffective this season.

Jets 2H Over 6.5 (-125)

FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

In their last four contests, the Patriots have allowed seven or more points, which is likely due to the team’s lack of depth on both sides of the football. The Patriots cannot maintain the battle-of-field position, which ultimately results in allowing the score.

While the Jets’ offense has been rough, this is a good value play with a solid chance of cashing.

Patriots (-126)

FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

Surprisingly enough, the fans most upset with this result would likely be those who root for the Patriots. While die-hards may clamor for a better draft position, the Patriots aren’t a team that will tank under Bill Belichick.

If this truly is the coach’s last game with the franchise, he won’t do the team a solid of helping them secure a bottom-three pick.

Regardless, Belichick likely won’t want to lose anyway, and the team is more than capable of knocking off the Siemian-led Jets offense. Expect New England to squeak this one out.

Jets vs Patriots Same Game Parlay

Jets vs Patriots SGP (+412)

FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 2 units

  • Patriots (-126)
  • Patriots 1H -1.5 (+110)
  • Jets 2H Over 6.5 (-125)

New England has the better team in this one, surprisingly enough, and while they haven’t been able to consistently win, they have remained consistently competitive.

While some may believe the team is tanking, Bill Belichick would never. Expect the Patriots to secure the home victory.
