After a 30-10 loss in Dallas, the New York Jets head back home looking to settle a score. They’ve dropped 14 straight games to the New England Patriots dating back to 2015.
A loss Sunday (1 p.m. ET, CBS) would tie the NFL’s current longest losing streak against one opponent. But sitting at 0-2, the Patriots suddenly look vulnerable.
Can the Jets end their skid? Let’s dive into the odds and predictions for the next rendition in this AFC East rivalry.

Patriots vs Jets Predictions
Score Pick: Jets 20, Patriots 16
The Jets’ Super Bowl dreams may be dashed, but it’s not time to write off the season entirely.
While they were in an impossible spot against a legitimate contender last week, their defense still possesses the playmakers to be competitive. Zach Wilson just has to limit the mistakes, which is sometimes easier said than done.
The Patriots will look to capitalize, but they have problems of their own. Despite some improvement from Mac Jones, New England is 0-2 for the first time since 2001, Bill Belichick’s second season at the helm.
New York is due to turn a corner in this rivalry.
Patriots vs Jets Best Bets & Props
Jets +3 (-110)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
Can Wilson make enough plays to lift the Jets? That may be the difference here.
The former first-rounder has largely been a disappointment. He was picked off three times last week, giving him 22 interceptions over his first 24 NFL games. And a shaky offensive line certainly hasn’t helped matters.
Just as they did in Week 1 against Buffalo, the Jets may need their defense to put them over the top. It’s certainly capable enough to keep them within a field goal. Hence, I’m taking New York to cover +3 as my NFL bet of the day.
Patriots Under 19.5 (-112)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
New England’s offense has been largely unimpressive. Devoid of big playmakers, the Patriots are averaging only 18.5 points through two games. More troubling, they’ve already allowed six sacks while producing just one passing play over 25 yards.
Based on that, what gives you confidence that New England can consistently move the ball against New York? Last week shouldn’t diminish anyone’s impressions of the Jets’ defense.
Under 36.5 (-110)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
When these two teams last faced off – Week 11 of last season – Wilson passed for only 77 yards. Both New England and New York are strong defensively but have had trouble protecting the quarterback.
Because of the strength of both defenses and inconsistent quarterback play, I’m siding with the Under.

- Jets (+120)
- Alt. Total: Under 39.5 (-167)
New England was erratic offensively against Miami, and now it gets a tougher test against New York’s stifling defense. While it’s hard to put much trust in Wilson, I’m counting on the Jets to make just enough plays to end their lengthy losing streak versus the Patriots to take the plus odds of the moneyline.
Points will be at a premium in a low-scoring affair and teasing the line buffers the risk of picking the Jets straight-up.
