Polymarket Review for 2026: Is Polymarket Legit?

ByFrank Ammirante

Last Updated on Apr 28, 2026

Polymarket likes to call itself one of America’s largest prediction markets, but is that really the case? In this comprehensive Polymarket review, I’ll put this brand under the microscope to see if it really lives up to the hype.

From my research, Polymarket certainly delivers when it comes to variety. You can trade predictions on everything from sports to politics, crypto, technology, culture, and more. The modern website design, excellent customer support, and secure payment methods make this easier than ever. But keep reading to learn more about these key features.

Is Polymarket Legal in the US?

Polymarket recently launched in the US market at the back end of 2025, and is now available in all 50 US states. The platform is regulated under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which ensures some of the highest standards for security and fairness.

That said, you’ll need to prepare a copy of your government-issued ID if you want to create an account here. This will need to show you are a US resident and at least 18 years old. Additionally, Polymarket sports prediction markets are restricted to a small selection of states, so it will be important to read up on how the rules apply to your state.

How Does Polymarket Work?

What I like most about Polymarket is how easy the platform is to use and understand, especially if you’re a new trader. If you want to trade predictions here, you’ll need to start by choosing an event to predict. Here are a few examples I personally found during my time at Polymarket:

  • Will Bitcoin hit $80,000 in March?
  • Will Sinners win the 2026 Oscar for Best Picture?
  • Will the Oklahoma City Thunder be named the NBA Champion 2026?

You make predictions by buying event contracts tied to each market. You can buy either Yes or No contracts based on what you believe will happen. Each contract costs between $0.01 and $0.99, with prices determined by market supply and demand.

Event contracts can be traded until the underlying event happens. Then the contract settles, and what happens next depends on whether your prediction was right or wrong. Every correct event contract will settle for $1. While every incorrect contract will settle for $0.

So if you bought a Yes contract for $0.70 and your prediction ends up being right, it’ll settle for $1.00, and you’ll get to keep the $0.30 difference. Minus any relevant fees.

Trade Your Event Contracts at Any Time

Some prediction markets can last for several days, weeks, or months before they conclude. As the market sentiment shifts during this time, so will the price of your event contracts. This presents an opportunity to sell your position, either to lock in winnings or minimize losses. I also found no Polymarket fees for trading, which is another big benefit of choosing this platform.

What Topics Can You Predict at Polymarket?

With thousands of new prediction markets launching every day, there’s no shortage of topics to explore. Some of my favorites to browse throughout this Polymarket review include:

  • Sports
  • Politics
  • Economics
  • Crypto
  • Finance
  • Tech
  • Culture
  • Climate & science

There’s a huge amount of coverage within each of these topics. For example, Polymarket election prediction markets include everything from Presidential campaigns to midterms, Congress, and local election races.

Does Polymarket Have a Welcome Bonus for New Traders?

If you’re looking to join Polymarket as a new trader in the US, you can get started with a $10 trading bonus. To qualify for these rewards, you’ll need to register using any of the links on this page and make a qualifying deposit. The simplicity of this bonus is definitely its greatest asset. Claiming the rewards only takes a few minutes from start to finish.
Plus, the bonus terms are transparent and fair, meaning you can use the rewards to explore a wide variety of prediction markets in a way that suits you.

Key User Experience Features of This Prediction Market Platform

During the research and testing phase of this Polymarket review, I have to admit I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. This was thanks in part to features built to provide a smooth, stress-free user experience. Let’s take a closer look:

A High-performance Native App for On-the-go Trading

The Polymarket app is quick and easy to download on your mobile device, making it a popular choice among US prediction traders. Personally, I loved how easy it is to browse markets on my mobile. The responsive design, menus, filters, and search bar make it easy to find exactly the prediction market you’re looking for.

You also get access to a range of app-exclusive features that can be a game-changer for long-term trading. For instance, push notifications can be used to set various alerts tied to your current portfolio or tracked markets. Additionally, biometric logins make it easier and quicker to log in to your account, which can make all the difference if you need to adjust a position quickly.

Secure Payment Methods for Deposits & Withdrawals

Cryptocurrencies are the most commonly used payment methods for deposits and withdrawals at Polymarket. There’s a broad range of coins that you can use, but stablecoins such as USDC are usually the most popular for traders. It’s also possible to deposit via fiat methods like Visa and Mastercard if you use them to purchase crypto through intermediaries like Coinbase or MoonPay.

Furthermore, speed is a big benefit of using cryptocurrencies like USDC at Polymarket. For both deposits and withdrawals, you can expect instant transaction times, although this can be delayed by a few minutes or hours if the network becomes congested. There’s also no fees to consider, at least not from Polymarket, but your crypto wallet may apply its own network or gas fees.

Responsive Support Around the Clock

Technical issues and general difficulties can occur even at the best prediction market sites and apps. It’s how these platforms handle enquiries and questions from traders that really matters. That’s why I was pleased to see a 24/7 live chat during this Polymarket review. Initially, when I used this tool, I was met by an AI chatbot, but you can ask to be transferred to a real human, which I’d always recommend.

I found the agents to be friendly, fast-acting, and knowledgeable on all topics relating to Polymarket. This meant I could expect a clear and fast response to anything from account management to payments and trading issues. You’ve also got alternative contact methods such as email and social media, plus a massive help center with a wide range of FAQ and guides to explore.

Is Polymarket a Prediction Trading Platform Worth Visiting?

Honestly, Polymarket is one of the best event trading platforms I’ve visited in a long time, so I highly recommend checking it out. The sheer volume of events that are available to predict is nothing short of impressive, including sports, politics, economics, crypto, and more. There’s also no trading fees on the vast majority of events, which is a huge benefit over competing brands. Everything about the user experience is excellent too, so expect a high-performance mobile app, efficient payment methods, and responsive support.
