The Champions League Semifinals are here, and we’ve got some intriguing ties to break down.

The first-leg action kicks off on Tuesday, April 28, with PSG hosting Bayern Munich. The following day, Premier League leaders Arsenal will visit Atletico Madrid.

Without further ado, let’s dig into my best bets for the first leg of the Champions League Semifinals.

Champions League Predictions

PSG: Tie No Bet (-120) vs Bayern Munich

I’m leading off with PSG to defeat Bayern Munich at home on Tuesday, with the safeguard that a tie counts as a push.

Bayern is one of four teams to defeat PSG at home this season across all competitions, but that November league-phase matchup doesn’t mean much to me at this point. PSG star Ousmane Dembele went off injured in that game after 25 minutes, and the hosts outshot Bayern 25-9, which had a lot to do with Luis Diaz’s red card right before halftime.

This contest should be completely different.

While Bayern is more than capable of getting a result away from home, I expect PSG to take a slender lead with it to Germany next week. At favorable odds, I’ll back the defending UCL winner as one of my best Champions League bets today.

Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal: Over 2.5 Goals (+120)

In my experience with soccer betting, I don’t recall too many opportunities to get plus-money odds on an Over at 2.5 goals. It’s much more common to see plus-money odds on the Over when the total is 3.5 goals, as it is in the PSG-Bayern Munich contest.

While Arsenal have played low-scoring games in the UCL knockout stage, the Gunners will face a tougher test against an Atletico side that features Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann in attack.

Mikel Arteta’s squad is more than capable of scoring goals on its own, as it showed when it put four past Atletico in their league phase meeting in October. While I don’t expect Arsenal to play expansive football in the first leg away from home, it may be forced to if Atletico get an early goal.

I could see the hosts prevailing 2-1 on Wednesday, so I’ll take a chance on the Over that no one will want to bet on.
