World Cup Group F Odds & Predictions

Last Updated: Nov 27, 2022

Group F consists of four teams who will likely understand the group’s hierarchy. With Belgium currently ranked number two according to FIFA’s official rankings, there is no reason why the Roberto Martínez-managed team shouldn’t prove victorious.

Apart from Belgium, Croatia is the most likely team to qualify from Group F. Croatia finished second in the 2018 World Cup after a 4-2 loss to France in the final.

Morocco and Canada will look to be competitive in the group after solid outcomes in the 2021-2022 national play. Morocco enters the tournament ranked 22nd, while Canada will be the lowest in the group at 41.

World Cup Group F Winner Odds

  • Belgium (-175)
  • Croatia (+290)
  • Morocco (+900)
  • Canada (+1100)

World Cup Group F odds are current as of 1 pm EST on Oct 12 on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Belgium’s odds immediately stand out as a solid bet to look into. The star-studded team features a world-class attack that should bode well against the other teams in the group.

On the other hand, Croatia, with plus odds, is a long shot that could see a profit. In the 2018 World Cup, Croatia won Group D, beating out Lionel Messi’s Argentina squad.

World Cup Group F Preview

Belgium (-175)

After finishing in third place in the 2018 World Cup, Belgium ranked the next three years as the number-one team in the world according to FIFA’s official rankings. In 2022, Brazil took over the top spot; even so, Belgium is considered among the top echelon of tournament teams.

The Red Devils have many household names that round out their roster, such as midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, the Manchester City star, who has been lethal on the attack this season.

However, the beneficiary of De Bruyne’s passing will more than likely be Romelu Lukaku, the top goal scorer all-time for the Belgian national team. While Lukaku is currently sidelined at Inter Milan due to injury, he is expected to be fit by the time the World Cup begins.

Finally, with Thibaut Courtois coming off of a Champions League title with Real Madrid in goal, you can rest assured that Belgium will not concede many during the group stage.

Croatia (+290)

After a dark horse run in the previous World Cup, Croatia is looking to replicate its success and make it back to the finals of this tournament.

This year’s squad is headlined once again by Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric who is still in top form despite turning 37 in September. He will likely occupy the midfield alongside Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic, giving Croatia arguably the most robust midfield in the tournament.

The rest of the team is filled with high-class players, many of who play club football in some of the biggest leagues, such as the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, and the English Premier League.

You can expect Croatia to compete for the top spot in the group but more than likely finish second and advance to the knockout stage.

Morocco (+900)

Morocco has qualified for its second straight World Cup after a 20-year hiatus. While expectations are not high for Waldo Regragui’s team to win many games, Morocco has proven that they will compete despite a lack of top-end talent.

Additionally, the team should feel confident as they enter the tournament with a four-game unbeaten streak in matches leading up to the World Cup. The squad will seek contributions from some veteran attackers, Hakim Ziyech and Youssef En-Nesyri.

The duo has combined for 31 goals over their national team careers, and the steady attack they provide will be necessary for Morocco to remain competitive in the group.

Canada (+1100)

Canada has finally made its return to the World Cup for the first time since 1986. While there are not very high hopes surrounding the team’s success in the tournament, the country is beyond excited to see representation in the most prominent soccer event for the first time this century.

This year’s iteration of the Canadian national team has shown improvement resulting in results uncharacteristic of the club. The team dominated in World Cup qualifiers, going on an 11-game unbeaten streak, including surprising victories over Mexico and the United States.

While they might not win a game in the group stage, it will be fun to see the team compete and put on a show for their country.

When playing at its full potential, Belgium is undoubtedly one of the top teams in the world and one of the more underrated World Cup winner picks.

While Group F does contain some formidable opponents at top form, these teams remain unlikely to compete with the Belgians.

Many of Belgium’s players have also had the luxury of receiving steady playing time at their given clubs leading up to the tournament. Apart from Lukaku, many of the Belgian stars appear to be fit and in top form at the moment.

Eden Hazard, who has seen limited time at Real Madrid over the past few seasons, even managed to see the pitch and contribute to a Champions League match in September.

Croatia Qualifies from Group F (-180) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 3 units

Unlike Canada and Morocco, Croatia’s national team has far more experience competing in the World Cup.

While it is hard to picture the 2018 runner-up nation replicating their success from four years ago, making it out of the group stage should still be within the realm of possibilities.

While I believe Belgium will win the Group fairly easily, Croatia should find themselves a few points behind them and into the next round.
