TwinSpires Sportsbook Hands-on Review

Back in 2007, Churchill Downs Inc., the parent company of Churchill Downs and the organizers of the storied Kentucky Derby, launched TwinSpires as an advanced deposit wagering service for its family of horse racing tracks, as well as Kentucky Oaks and the Derby itself.

Through time, TwinSpires began to emerge into the Online Casino and Online Sports Betting world to coincide with their industry-leading Racebook. They have also acquired stakes in land-based casinos and tracks across the United States.

While the TwinSpires Racebook is available in most states, the availability of the Online Casino and Sportsbook is still limited due to individual state-gaming laws. While the Online Casino is operational in MI and PA, the Mobile Sportsbook is running in PA, MI, AZ, CO, IN, and TN, launching in 2021.

Contrary to most sportsbooks, TwinSpires brings a Racebook to the table. If you are into ponies, sports betting, and online casino gaming, it doesn’t get any more convenient than TwinSpires.

What’s more, the TwinSpires Sportsbook features a Cash-Out option. Not all sportsbooks have the Cash-Out feature. It’s valuable, especially if you place a bet and change your mind. While not all markets can be cashed out, it is still a nice fallback.

My TwinSpires App Experience

Firstly, to download the TwinSpires Sportsbook app, all you have to do is enter the App Store on your iOS device or the Google App Store for any Android device and search for “TwinSpires Sportsbook” and download the app.

Now that you have the app installed, you must enter your log-in information. If you have yet to join the TwinSpires Sportsbook, you can register for an account here as well. It will then verify your location to protect the company and the user’s security and safety.

Similar to the desktop version of the TwinSpires Sportsbook, you will find a clean, sleek interface that is extremely easy to use. It reminds me of SugarHouse in many aspects, but again, cleaner. Maybe it’s the color scheme. I’m a sucker for blue and white (cc Dallas Cowboys).

When you are in the app, it does open up to the Online Casino. You must go to the top left-hand side and hit the TwinSpires logo button to pull up a drop-down menu to enter the sportsbook.

Please note if you want to use the Racebook, you will be redirected to the Racebook app. While you can access the TwinSpires Online Casino and Mobile Sportsbook on one single app, you must download a separate app for the Racebook.

Once you are at the homepage of the TwinSpires app, you will once again see the clean interface. It might be the cleanest that I have seen, and I have done many of these reviews and belong to many sportsbooks.

One of the things that really pop out at the top is the scrolling of the side-to-side promotions menu. They are big blocks that stand out. Each block has a promotion that you can click on and decide if you want to deploy it or not. You don’t have to dig to find promos here, which I like.

The body of the home page is dominated by another terrific feature that I have only seen at TwinSpires, “Top US Sports.” While you can change to an individual sport or market, it opens up with the Top US Sports that you can wager.

It standardly opens with your typical bets, ATS, ML, Total, but again, you have the option to pick any bet type or prop you want to see here.

At the bottom menu, you will find options for Live Games you can bet on, Bet Slip, Markets Starting Soon, and a menu to search all the sports and markets carried by TwinSpires.

The TwinSpires App is one of the best in the industry.

Should You Bet at TwinSpires Sportsbook?

Yes, you should bet with TwinSpires if it is operational in your state. While I live in New Jersey, I do not have access to the TwinSpires Sportsbook. However, if I am at the TwinSpires homepage and click on the New Jersey sportsbook, it will redirect me to BetAmerica.

Even though I could not place a bet, I still had the availability to thoroughly dissect the web page and app. As I have noted throughout this review, TwinSpires has one of the best interfaces in the industry from soup to nuts.

Not only does it offer all of your typical betting options and markets to wager on, but it has a Cash-Out feature. I can not stress enough how important the Cash-Out feature is for an avid sports bettor.

They are also fairly aggressive with their odds, which is slightly above average depending on what sport.

While TwinSpires does not offer a rewards or loyalty program for their Sportsbook users, they do have it for the Racebook. They make up for it by featuring uber-aggressive daily promotions to new and existing users, including a surplus of Parlay Insurance promos, Odds Boosts, and Bet-and-Gets.

If you live in a state in which the TwinSpires Sportsbook is live, legal, and operational, I advise you to sign up now. You will be just as impressed as I am.

You can join TwinSpires Sportsbook just like any other sportsbook in the industry in a few essay steps:
