The Vikings are undoubtedly a good team, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that they’ve won just one game by more than one score this season. An impressive win over the Buffalo Bills speaks for itself, but their 40-3 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week is hard to ignore.
Despite their struggles on offense, the Patriots have a stout defense, allowing the sixth-fewest points per game in the league. They’ve also generated 11 interceptions on the year and allow just 5.2 net yards per pass attempt. New England’s secondary is quite strong.
With that said, the Vikings have some dangerous weapons on their side. Justin Jefferson is hauling in 109.3 receiving yards per game, Adam Thielen has scored a couple of touchdowns, and the addition of T.J. Hockenson gives this versatile attack a real scoring threat at tight end.
I’m expecting a narrow victory for the Vikings here, even if they do manage to cover the spread.
