Panthers vs Ravens Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Nov 17, 2022

Looking at the NFL standings, it is easy to see who is favored in this week’s game between the Panthers and Ravens. Carolina has a 3-7 record and is in last place in the NFC South, while Baltimore is 6-3 and is in first place in the AFC North.

As a result, the Ravens are nearly two-touchdown favorites in what is expected to be a low-scoring game.

Below, I go over how this plays into my Carolina vs Baltimore betting tips.

Panthers vs Ravens Odds

As of Nov. 16, at BetRivers, the Ravens are a 12-point favorite and the point total is at only 43 points. The Ravens were always going to be heavily favored in this game, but making them a 10-point favorite or better is a bold move.

Take a look at the best Panthers odds and Ravens odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Panthers vs Ravens Implied Totals

Ravens 27.5, Panthers 15.5

The bookmakers are saying that the Ravens should score about four touchdowns and that the Panthers should score about half of that.

Panthers vs Ravens Prediction

Ravens 20, Panthers 17

There are two questions for this Sunday’s game: Can the Panthers contain Lamar Jackson, and are the Panthers really this bad?

Of all NFL quarterbacks this season, only Tua Tagovailoa, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Geno Smith have a better QBR than Jackson. What makes Jackson hard to stop is that he is a decent passer who is great at running the football.

Even with Carolina’s struggles this season, they have done decently against dual-threat quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray, Marcus Mariota, and Joe Burrow.

For the season, the Panthers defense is allowing 4.5 yards per carry, which is at the median for NFL teams. Unfortunately for Carolina, they also rank toward the bottom of NFL teams in rushing yards allowed per game and rushing first downs per game.

Since the Panthers fired head coach Matt Rhule, they have improved with wins against the Falcons and Buccaneers. They should keep this game close, and depending on how they do against Jackson, they could win.

Panthers vs Ravens Bet Tips

Here are a few Panthers vs Ravens betting trends to consider before making your bets:

  • Baltimore is 4-4-1 against the spread, despite a 6-3 record.
  • Carolina is 0-4 on the road.
  • Carolina is 4-6 ATS, and they have a 3-7 record.

Panthers vs Ravens Best Bets

Panthers +12.5 (-110) at PointsBet Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Winning by 13 or more points in the NFL happens less often than winning by less than 13 points. In fact, 61.8% of NFL games are decided by 12 points or less.

The Panthers have steadily improved since firing Rhule. Their issue is how Baker Mayfield will perform now that he is back as the starting quarterback. Carolina should be fine if Mayfield can return to the form that he had when he played for the Cleveland Browns.

If the Panthers are at +10.5 or better, they are the side to back in this game.

Ravens: Win by 1-6 Points (+400) at PointsBet Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

If we have a close low-scoring game, the Ravens should win by less than a touchdown. At +400, it is worth taking a flier on Baltimore to win by exactly 1 to 6 points.
