Jets vs Steelers Predictions

Last Updated: Sep 26, 2022

After suffering setbacks in Week 3, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets will seek victory when they meet on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. ET.

Pittsburgh looked uninspired in their 29-17 loss to the Browns, while the Jets were flattened 27-12 by a superior Bengals team at home.

Let’s take a look at the New York vs Pittsburgh best bets and predictions for this Week 4 matchup.

Jets vs Steelers Odds

The Steelers are slight favorites over the Jets at home, being given a 3.5-point edge in what’s expected to be a low-scoring game. These numbers seem fair across the board.

Take a look at the best Jets odds and Steelers odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Jets vs Steelers Implied Totals

Steelers 22.5, Jets 19

Oddsmakers have the Steelers earning a narrow victory over a young Jets team that’s expected to have Zach Wilson back in the saddle.

Jets vs Steelers Prediction

Jets 19, Steelers 16

Joe Flacco‘s run as quarterback has been nothing if not entertaining, but rumor has it that Zach Wilson will be back under center against the Steelers. After enduring a knee injury in preseason, the 23-year-old signal-caller is expected to make his season debut.

Whether it’s Flacco or Wilson making the passes, I like the Jets to pull off the upset in this spot. The Steelers have looked far from effective on offense, and without T.J. Watt putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, the defense lacks its usual tenacity and efficiency.

If Mitch Trubisky wasn’t already on the hot seat, Steelers fans will really be begging for Kenny Pickett to take his place if Trubisky proves unable to take down the Jets at home.

Mike Tomlin may not be interested in quick fixes, but it might be in his best interest to pull the plug sooner rather than later. This Pittsburgh passing attack currently ranks 28th in yards and 27th in touchdowns, with Trubisky averaging a meager 189.7 yards per game.

Jets vs Steelers Bet Tips

Some Jets vs Steelers betting trends worth considering:

  • The Steelers are 0-6 all-time without T.J. Watt.
  • Pittsburgh is 1-1-1 against the spread this season.
  • The Jets are 1-2 ATS.
  • In six combined games, the Under has hit four times for these teams this season.

Jets vs Steelers Best Bets

Jets Moneyline (+162) at Caesars Sportsbook

I don’t trust the Steelers enough in this spot, even as home favorites. Wilson will throw a touchdown or two, which will be enough to bring down a Pittsburgh team that currently lacks flair.

Under 41.5 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

New York’s offense may look a bit shaky in Wilson’s first game back under center, and seeing as how each team is averaging no more than 18 points per game this season, the Under feels like the right play here.
