Texans vs Cowboys Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Dec 6, 2022

The 1-10-1 Texans will travel to Dallas to take on the red-hot 9-3 Cowboys in a game that Vegas believes will be a massacre.

While the Texans managed to limit the impact of the return of Deshaun Watson last week, holding the Cleveland offense to zero touchdowns, they still lost 27-14. The Texans conceded two defensive touchdowns and a special teams score to the Browns.

This plays right into the hands of the Cowboys. Dallas has one of the NFL’s best offenses while fielding a defense that is opportunistic and can also score the football in its own right.

Here are my Houston vs Dallas best bets and betting tips to help you dominate NFL betting in Week 14.

Texans vs Cowboys Odds

All Texans vs Cowboys odds and lines are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook as of Dec. 6, at 12:30 p.m. EST.

The oddsmakers are not giving the Texans a blip of a chance in Week 14 at Dallas. The Cowboys are favored by 17 points, one of the largest spreads in recent history.

Take a look at the best Texans odds and Cowboys odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Texans vs Cowboys Implied Totals

Cowboys 31, Texans 14

The oddsmakers have the Cowboys scoring 31 points, about a field goal more than their per-game average of 27.8 points.

This number could be higher, in theory. The Cowboys have scored an average of 37.2 points per game in six games since Dak Prescott’s return from injury in October.

Texans vs Cowboys Prediction

Cowboys 38, Texans 17

Vegas believes this game will be a Dallas blowout and so do I. In the past six games since Dak Prescott’s return, they have played three inferior teams including the Lions, Bears, and Colts. The Cowboys have won all of those games by at least 18 points.

They also defeated the Vikings, one of the best teams in the NFL, by more than 18 in this time period.

When it comes to the Cowboys, they will enter the game as healthy as can be for a December football team. While they did lose Anthony Brown for the season last week to an Achilles injury, they may not skip a beat with their next-man-up mentality.

Furthermore, the Texans have one of the worst passing attacks in the NFL. Brown’s injury will not impact the Cowboys, at least not in this spot.

The only chance the Texans have of keeping this a game and covering the spread is if their defense shows up like it did last week. However, they are not getting Deshaun Watson, who hasn’t played football in a long time. Instead, they will face one of the most fine-tuned offensive units in the NFL.

Texans vs Cowboys Best Bets

Cowboys -17 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Normally, 17 points is a lot of points to bet on a team to cover, but the Cowboys have proven that it can be done. In the past six games, the Cowboys have won four of those games by at least 18 points.

They are a team firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball. Meanwhile, the Texans have packed it in.

The Texans are 1-6 ATS in their past seven games, failing to cover in four straight.

Under 45 Points (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Cowboys can cover this total on their own. However, we do need to credit the Houston defense, which has been the bright spot for the team in an otherwise porous season.

That being said, the Cowboys’ defense has been playing lights out of late. And even in a bad game, the Texans don’t stand a chance since they field one of the worst offensive units in the league.

The Cowboys can still cover the 17 points with the game’s total going Under 45.
