Broncos vs Panthers Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Nov 23, 2022

The Broncos and Panthers are both three-win teams with losing records facing off in what is expected to be a close game.

Both teams have had disappointing starts to the season but have played well recently. Even though neither team is likely to finish the season with a winning record, this Sunday’s game will answer a lot of questions about both teams.

For my Denver vs Carolina predictions, I delve into this to figure out who will win.

Broncos vs Panthers Odds

As of Tuesday, Nov. 22, Betfred Sportsbook has Denver as only a 2.5-point road favorite in a game with a point total of only 36 points. With the Broncos yet to cross the number three as a favorite in this game, the oddsmakers have signaled that Carolina has a strong chance of winning as an underdog.

Take a look at the best Broncos odds and Panthers odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Broncos vs Panthers Implied Totals

Broncos 19.25, Panthers 16.75

As of Wednesday, Nov. 23, the bookmakers are expecting the Broncos to win by about a field goal in a game where neither team should score three or more touchdowns.

Broncos vs Panthers Prediction

Broncos 20, Panthers 14

Last week, the Panthers entered the fourth quarter tied 3-3 with the Ravens on the road, in a game where they were +12.5-point underdogs. They ended up losing 13-3, but because they covered the spread with a strong defensive performance, the oddsmakers began looking at Carolina more favorably.

The issue for the Panthers is over who is going to be the quarterback. This season, they have had three quarterbacks, with Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, and P.J. Walker all seeing time under center.

Of the three, Walker is the only one who wasn’t a highly regarded first-round pick, and he has played the best. Unfortunately, he is hurt.

Mayfield, after missing two starts, filled in for Walker last week and performed terribly against the Ravens. With a 17.8 QBR for the season and just as many interceptions as touchdowns, Mayfield is one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league this year.

Replacing Mayfield this week is Darnold, who has yet to play this season. I expect Darnold to be rusty against a Broncos defense that did well recently against the Raiders, Titans, Jaguars, and Jets.

That is why I like Denver to win what I expect to be a low-scoring game.

Broncos vs Panthers Bet Tips

Here are a few Broncos vs Panthers betting trends to consider before making your bets:

  • The Broncos opened as a -2.5 favorite and the line hasn’t changed.
  • The Broncos are 3-7 against the spread and 3-7 overall.
  • The Panthers are 5-6 against the spread and 3-8 overall.

Broncos vs Panthers Best Bets

Broncos -2.5 (-110) at Betfred Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Broncos have been a disappointment this season after acquiring Russell Wilson during the offseason, but the Broncos’ defense has held its own. Against a weak Panthers offense, the Broncos should be able to cover a modest -2.5 spread on the road.

Broncos First Half Moneyline (-130) at Betfred Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

With little recent playing experience, I expect Darnold to struggle at the start of the game. He hasn’t played a regular season game since last year and only attempted 14 passes in the preseason before getting injured.

Based on this, the best betting angle is to bet on the Broncos’ first-half moneyline at -130. If the first half ends in a 0-0 or 3-3 tie, you get your money back. If the Broncos win the first half, you get a small profit.

Either way, it’s a good bet.
