Both teams are unbeaten at the 2026 World Cup. France has won all six of its matches, while Spain has reeled off five consecutive victories following a shocking 0-0 draw with Cabo Verde to open the group stage.

To prepare for this World Cup semifinal matchup, let’s examine the latest odds and make some France vs Spain predictions.

France vs Spain Predictions

Score Prediction: France 2, Spain 1

So far, France has been the most impressive team at this tournament. Didier Deschamps’ squad has recorded five victories by multiple goals, including its 2-0 quarterfinal win over Morocco that was more one-sided than the scoreline lets on.

Star striker Kylian Mbappe has scored eight of France’s 16 goals, and crucially, it appears he’s going to be fit enough to start after sustaining some ankle discomfort in Thursday’s game against Morocco.

His involvement is vital for a France attack that is loaded with talent, but none of Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, or Bradley Barcola can operate like Mbappe as an out-and-out No. 9.

If there’s one team that can slow down the French attack, it’s a Spanish side that has conceded just one goal in this tournament, that coming against Belgium in a 2-1 quarterfinal win powered by another late goal from Mikel Merino.

Spain has beaten France in their previous two head-to-head meetings, including a 2-1 victory in the semifinal of Euro 2024, and is unbeaten in its last 36 matches.

However, Luis de la Fuente’s side hasn’t been as convincing in front of goal in recent games, with Barcelona star Lamine Yamal (one goal) set to make his mark on the tournament. If the teenager doesn’t impress on Tuesday, Spain could be packing its bags.

France vs Spain Best Bets

France to Advance (-155) vs Spain

I picked France in my 2026 World Cup winner predictions, and I’m sticking with Les Bleus in a contest that many expect to be the match of the tournament.

Mbappe’s injury is a real concern, but this France squad has enough elite attackers to score a goal or two if the Real Madrid star isn’t 100% fit.

France also has the benefit of an extra day’s rest, which could be a significant advantage in a tournament that has tested players’ durability with high temperatures and an additional knockout game.

While there’s no denying Spain’s talent, I’m backing France to reach a third consecutive World Cup Final as my soccer bet of the day.

Lamine Yamal: 2+ Shots on Target (-110) vs France

By his lofty standards, Lamine Yamal has had a disappointing debut World Cup, registering a goal and zero assists in six games.

Part of that lack of production can be explained by the left hamstring injury he suffered in April with Barcelona, which limited him to just 64 minutes across Spain’s opening two group games.

Yamal has been more involved in the knockout rounds, playing 85 or more minutes in all three matches and recording at least two shots on target in each contest.

The 19-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Monday, will have to make a big impact if Spain are to knock off France, and he’ll have a decent chance of winning his individual matchup with 32-year-old left back Lucas Digne.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the goal involvements arrive, but I expect Yamal to be heavily involved in Spain’s attacking play, making him a strong bet to record at least two shots on target in Tuesday’s semifinal.
