Despite a solid regular season, Van Jefferson has taken a backseat to Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. during the Rams’ playoff run.
In the three games leading up to the Super Bowl, the second-year wide receiver has seen just nine total targets from quarterback Matthew Stafford. Jefferson has turned those nine looks into five receptions for 79 yards.
In the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers, he posted his second-lowest receiving total of the season with just two catches for nine yards.
Could Jefferson make an impact against the Bengals in Super Bowl 56?
Let’s dive into my favorite Super Bowl props for Jefferson to find out.

Although his recent performances haven’t inspired much confidence, Jefferson is a talented deep threat that could go over this total in one play.
Beyond the big play potential, I think there’s a legitimate chance that Sean McVay gets Jefferson more involved in the offense against the Bengals.
The absence of tight end Tyler Higbee (sprained MCL) could free up some targets and Ben Skowronek shouldn’t be in line to take any after dropping a walk-in touchdown in the NFC Championship Game.

Jefferson saw a playoff-high five targets in that game after Higbee exited early on and was on the field for 87% of the offensive snaps, which should continue into the Super Bowl as the Rams primarily operate in 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR).
When given opportunities this season, Jefferson has typically made the most of them. During the regular season, he saw 5+ targets 10 times and had 35+ receiving yards on all but one of those occasions.
With Jefferson elevated to the third option in the passing game, I really like this Over for our NFL bet of the day.
Van Jefferson: First Touchdown Scorer (+1600) at BetMGM

Jefferson hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 14, so this is certainly a bit of a longshot, but that’s exactly what I’m looking to invest in when scouring the First TD market.
The optimal outcome here is that the Bengals defense gets a little too hung up on covering Kupp and Beckham early in the game and Jefferson burns them on a deep shot over the top.

It’s happened before. Of Jefferson’s six touchdown receptions this season, four were the Rams’ first touchdown of the game and one was the first touchdown by either team.
At these odds, I’m willing to take a dart throw on Jefferson to find the end zone first on Super Bowl Sunday.
