The “Group of Death" wraps up as Costa Rica and Germany go head-to-head, and this match will most likely have implications on which team wins the group. This Group E matchup takes place on Dec. 1 at Al Bayt Stadium, with kickoff set at 2 p.m. ET.

Germany are the sixth-favored team to win the World Cup in 2022 at +1000 odds, right behind fellow group mate Spain, who are at +800 to win. Spain are also favored to win Group E, while Germany are right behind at +110.

On the other hand, Costa Rica will need a miracle to win the World Cup or to even make it out of the group, as they are at the bottom at +5000 to win Group E and +850 to qualify for the Round of 16.

With Germany and Spain very close in the standings, a win for Germany here can determine whether they win Group E or not.

Costa Rica vs Germany Odds

  • 3-Way Handicap: Germany (-390) | Draw (+440) | Costa Rica (+1100)
  • Draw No Bet: Germany (-1400) | Costa Rica (+700)
  • Over/Under Goals: Over 2.5 (-150) | Under 2.5 (+120)
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes (+115) | No (-145)

Costa Rica vs Germany World Cup odds are current as of Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. ET on Caesars Sportsbook.

To no one’s surprise, the Nationalelf are the favorites in this match. Though they haven’t seen that much success in 2022, they should have no problem taking care of business against Los Ticos.

Costa Rica vs Germany Prediction

Costa Rica 0-3 Germany

The only time these two teams faced off was during the 2006 World Cup Group Stage, in which Germany beat Costa Rica, 4-2. This match will have a similar outcome, with Germany coming out on top.

Germany has a better roster from top to bottom. They have established stars such as Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, İlkay Gündoğan, Kai Havertz, Antonio Rüdiger, Matthias Ginter, and Manuel Neuer.

However, they can also call upon their young stars to bring new life, such as Karim Adeyemi, Youssoufa Moukoko, Jamal Musiala, and Armel Bella-Kotchap.

Though they’re projected to finish at the bottom of the group, Costa Rica had shocked the world before, as they made a run to the quarter-finals in 2014. They’ve played well in 2022, outscoring opponents 16-6 and winning an Inter-Confederation Playoff

Los Ticos have the experience, having 10 players on the 2018 World Cup roster, and six of those players on the 2014 team (Joel Campbell, Yeltsin Tejeda, Bryan Ruiz, Celso Borges, Óscar Duarte, and Keylor Navas).

The Nationalelf are juggernauts and have a legit shot at winning Group E. Their attack is up there with the best in the world, while the defense can stonewall opponents. Costa Rica will struggle in this match, with Germany easily taking the victory.

Costa Rica vs Germany Betting Tips

Costa Rica have seen success this year, as they enter the World Cup with a 9-2-1 record, outscoring opponents, 16-6. Though they failed to qualify for the CONCACAF Nations League Finals, they advanced to the Gold Cup.

Germany have struggled in 2022, as they sport a 2-5-1 record but have outscored opponents, 14-10. However, the Nationalelf failed to advance to the UEFA Nations League Finals.

Costa Rica vs Germany Best Bets

Germany to Win & Over 2.5 Goals (-127) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 2 Units

Coming out of this match with three points could determine whether Germany is the World Cup Group E winner, so a win here is crucial. Germany have a high-powered attack and will control most of the possession time in this one.

The Nationalelf could easily score Over 2.5 goals by themselves en route to a win.
