The Ohio State Buckeyes returned to the College Football Playoff last season, despite a second-straight year ending the regular season with a loss to Michigan and failing to reach the Big Ten Championship.
With Heisman finalist C.J. Stroud onto the NFL, the Ohio State Buckeyes will turn to unproven junior Kyle McCord at quarterback. They’ll also have to replace three NFL-caliber offensive linemen and overcome arch-rival Michigan – who they’ve lost their last two against.

Ohio State: Win National Championship (+750)
Caesars Sportsbook
Ohio State was a 54-yard field goal away from beating Georgia and being in the National Championship last season. It missed and Georiga went on to trounce TCU and win its second straight title.
This is a new-look Ohio State unit littered with question marks, and even though the Buckeyes have been a mainstay in the top end of recruiting classes, the inexperience factor is huge.
Ohio State will also have to go on the road to Notre Dame early in the year, which won’t affect their conference record but could easily tack on a costly loss when it comes to the Buckeyes’ playoff and National Championship hopes.
Ohio State: Win Big Ten Championship (+175)
Caesars Sportsbook
Ohio State has lost to Michigan in the last two seasons, which has kept them out of the Big Ten Championship. Still, if the Buckeyes get to Indianapolis, they’re likely to be a large favorite against their Big Ten West opponent.

We can talk in circles about Ohio State’s schedule – which is significantly more difficult than in previous years – or speculate about a Big Ten West elevating to the level of the Buckeyes, but the truth is this bet will likely come down to “The Game” in late November.
Ohio State Best Prop Bets
Ohio State: Under 10.5 Wins (+118)
FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
I’m not drooling over betting the Under on a juggernaut like Ohio State. However, this is a team with major holes and an unfavorable schedule.
Penn State should be improved, going on the road to an arch-rival is never easy – especially one of Michigan’s caliber – and Notre Dame is 29-2 on their home field since 2018.
It’s going to be tough for Ohio State to run the table this season, and at FanDuel Sportsbook, you can get a significantly better price than other Ohio sportsbooks.
Marvin Harrison Jr.: Win Heisman Trophy (+1800)
Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
Marvin Harrison Jr. was hands-down the best wide receiver in the nation last season, he’ll almost certainly be the first receiver off the board in next year’s NFL Draft and has the lowest Heisman trophy odds of any receiver in the preseason.
Harrison is the high school teammate of McCord, so the two should have chemistry and he should be able to rack up a ton of counting stats early in the year as he looks to a familiar face while settling in at the next level.
It isn’t easy for a wide receiver to take home the Heisman – although DeVonta Smith did just three years ago – so the precedent is there.
