Avalanche vs Blues Game 6 Prop Bets | Stanley Cup Playoffs Props & Odds

Last Updated: Feb 15, 2023

The Colorado Avalanche are still just one win away from their first berth in the Western Conference Final since 2002.

It looked like that win was going to happen Wednesday night, but the Blues tied the game with less than a minute left before Tyler Bozak won it in overtime.

The Avs will have a second chance at closing out this series, but this time it’ll be at the Enterprise Center where the Blues play.

Let’s take a look at some good game and player props for this potentially series-deciding Game 5.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Thursday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 6 Props

Both teams to score 1 or more goals in the second period (+110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

There were two goals scored in both the first and second periods of Game 5, though the second period was when both teams had one goal.

I like for that to continue in this one, even though I have the Avs closing this series out.

Both teams have also scored more as the games have gone (especially for the Blues lately), so that’s another reason why I’m taking this one.

At plus-odds, I absolutely love this bet.

First to 3 goals: Colorado Avalanche (-130)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This happened in Games 3 through 5 and I am going to stick with it for Game 6.

The Blues’ goaltending also wasn’t better on Wednesday as Ville Husso still looked to be fighting the puck. He hasn’t played at the level he displayed during the regular season and it’s cost the Blues so far.

Yes, St. Louis did come back, but it was mainly due to the Avs not playing as hard down the stretch and that Darcy Kuemper allowed a couple of goals that he would surely want back.

Colorado’s offense has been tough to stop in this series and that trend should only continue in this one.

PREVIOUSLY: Avalanche vs. Blues Predictions

The Colorado Avalanche are only one win away from their first trip to the Western Conference Final since 2002.

After splitting the first two games in Denver, the Avs traveled to St. Louis and beat the Blues both times at the Enterprise Center. They outscored them 11-5 in both of the games after only scoring four goals in the first two games of the series.

Nazem Kadri had a hat trick in Game 4 as he put on a show for the St. Louis crowd, plus Darcy Kuemper continued to make big saves when he needed to.

Let’s take a look at some good game and player props for this potentially series-deciding Game 5.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 5 Props

Most goals scored in a period: 2nd period (+155)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The first period has been a bit slow throughout the series as the action has picked up considerably as the game has gone on.

In Game 4, there were six (!!) goals scored in the middle frame after only one was scored in the first period. The third period then saw multiple goals, as well.

I think the Avs will get the first goal in the first period, but they won’t fully jump on the Blues until a bit later.

At plus-odds, I absolutely love this bet.

First to 3 goals: Colorado Avalanche (-160)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This feels like a no-brainer for numerous reasons.

The Blues’ goaltending didn’t get any better in Game 4. Ville Husso couldn’t revert back to his regular-season form and saw his save percentage drop to .884 through five games in the playoffs.

Colorado has also woke up offensively after a poor showing in Game 2 when the team only scored one goal. That was a pretty rare sight during the regular season, and it was the first time in the playoffs so far that the Avs had scored one goal or fewer.

I’m not sure I see the Blues being able to score with the Avs in this game, which is why I like for this prop to hit.

PREVIOUSLY: Blues vs. Avalanche Prop Bets

The Colorado Avalanche are just two wins away from a berth in the Western Conference Finals.

After splitting the first two games in Denver, the Avs traveled to St. Louis and took down the Blues, 5-2. It was a much better performance after they dropped Game 2 pretty handily.

Both Nazem Kadri and Gabriel Landeskog scored, plus the Avalanche got solid goaltending from Darcy Kuemper in the win.

Let’s take a look at some good game and player props for this very important Game 4.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Monday, May 23 at noon ET.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 4 Props

Time of 1st goal: 9:00-60:00 (+105)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This bet has been mostly good for me in this series (except in Game 3) and I like for it to bounce back in this one.

I think it will take a little bit for the floodgates to open for Colorado and both teams will play solid defensively until the first goal is scored.

At plus-odds, I absolutely love this bet.

First to 3 goals: Colorado Avalanche (-115)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This also feels like a slam dunk, especially with the Blues’ goaltending situation.

Jordan Binnington is out for the remainder of the series due to a knee injury. That means Ville Husso will be back in the starter’s net going forward, though he’s struggled through four playoff games.

In these playoffs, Husso has just a .891 save percentage and has allowed two goals above expected. That’s not good enough for someone who took the starting job away from Binnington during the regular season.

I’m not sure I see his performance changing too much, which is why I love this prop.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 4 Player Props

Gabriel Landeskog anytime goalscorer (+165)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Gabriel Landeskog has been on fire lately for the Avalanche. He has goals in each of the last two games for Colorado and looks quite comfortable on the second line with Kadri.

I like for him to remain hot in this one and get at least one more goal to help the Avalanche try and take a 3-1 series lead.

Miko Rantanen OVER 1.5 points (+170)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Miko Rantanen has played well in this series and was one of the playmakers on two of Colorado’s five goals that were scored on Saturday. He finished the game with two assists as he’s been a menace at 5v5.

I like for that to continue in this game as he already has nine points in seven games. All nine points are assists, so who knows. Maybe he finally gets a goal and adds an assist in this one.

Either way, I love those odds for him to get at least two points in this important game.

Previously: Blues vs. Avalanche Props

The Avalanche and Blues series is all knotted up at one as it shifts back to St. Louis. The Blues accomplished what they went to Denver for, which was to steal back home ice.

Now, it’s up to the Blues to keep home ice as they have an opportunity to win both games at home to go up 3-1 in the series against one of the best teams in the NHL.

As for the Avs, they’re looking to bounce back after losing 4-1 at home and not looking good at all during that performance.

Here’s a look at some of the best game and player props for this massive Game 3.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Friday, May 20 at 11 a.m. ET.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 3 Props

Time of First Goal: 9:00-60:00 (+105)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This one hit on Thursday night and I like these odds again. Both teams played very defensively through the first half of the first period.

St. Louis is going to have a lot of adrenaline since the fans will be going crazy, but I like for the Avs to weather the storm in the early portions of the period to keep it close heading into the second half of it.

Most Goals Scored: 3rd Period (+120)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Normally, I’d do the second period for this one, but I think the last frame is going to see a lot of action. I think it’s going to be a 1-1 game heading into that period and then the Avs will score two more times to win the game, 3-2.

I don’t think they’ll get an empty-netter to win, but I like for them to get two massive goals, even though the Blues will also score one of their own in that period.

PREVIOUSLY: Avalanche vs Blues Game 2 Props

The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues played Game 1 of their second-round series on Tuesday night, with the Avalanche earning a 3-2 overtime win.

It looked like Jordan Binnington was going to will the Blues to victory, but Josh Manson finally beat the St. Louis netminder as the Avalanche attempted all 13 shots in the extra session.

Colorado will now look to go up 2-0 in the series before it shifts back to St. Louis for Game 3.

Here’s a look at some prop bets to consider for Game 2 on Thursday night.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Wednesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. ET.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 2 Props

Highest Scoring Period: 2nd Period (+160)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Game 1 started a bit slow for both teams, but it was the Blues who jumped out to a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. Colorado then scored the only two goals of that frame before St. Louis tallied the only marker of the third.

I like for the second period to see the most action again in Game 2. Both teams will start out the game a bit slow before it opens up like it did in Game 1.

Time of 1st Goal: 9:00-60:00 Min (+105)

WAGER: 1 Unit

I know the Blues struck first in Game 1 right around the six-minute mark, but I like for that to change in this game.

I think the Avalanche will play a bit tighter defensively and Binnington will be good in goal again early on, keeping this game scoreless for at least the first nine minutes as these two teams continue the feeling out process.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 2 Player Props

Mikko Rantanen Anytime Goalscorer (+115)

I wasn’t able to get the Nathan MacKinnon goal on Tuesday, so I’m changing it up for this one. Rantanen plays on MacKinnon’s line and currently has six points in five playoff games.

All six points are assists, and for someone who scored 36 goals during the regular season, he’s due. I like for him to score at least one of Colorado’s goals tonight.

Brayden Schenn OVER 0.5 Points (-105)

Schenn got the primary assist on one of the Blues’ goals in Game 1 and has four points in seven playoff games thus far, with all of them being assists.

He’s been a staple in the Blues’ top six all year long and finished the regular season with 24 goals and 58 points in 62 games.

I like for him to drive more offense tonight and get at least a point, whether that’s his first goal of the playoffs or another assist.

PREVIOUSLY: Avalanche vs Blues Game 1 Props

The second round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs is set to get underway on Tuesday night with the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues squaring off in Game 1 at Ball Arena.

These two teams met in the playoffs last year and the Avalanche ended up sweeping the Blues in four games.

Could history repeat itself here? Who will end up making the difference?

Let’s take a look at some prop bets for the first game of this series.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. ET.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 1 Props

Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer (+115)

WAGER: 1 Unit

MacKinnon has been a wrecking ball during the playoffs so far. He has six points in four games, with five of those points being goals.

He’s been absolute money on the top line with Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen as the Predators had no chance of stopping them.

I don’t think the Blues have a shot at stopping that line either, despite Ryan O’Reilly being one of the best defensive centers in the NHL.

Take this one to the bank.

Avalanche vs Blues Game 1 Player Props

Vladimir Tarasenko Anytime Goalscorer (+190)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Tarasenko has been great for the Blues all season long and that’s continued into the playoffs. He was one of the biggest reasons why the Blues took down the Wild, registering five goals and six points in that six-game series.

Even though I don’t think the Blues will win this game, I do like the odds of Tarasenko scoring.

This was a player that asked for a trade during the offseason last year, but the Blues decided to keep him. It has worked out pretty well thus far.

Tarasenko is going to get his in this series and I like for at least one of the Blues’ goals tonight to come off his stick.

Cale Makar OVER 0.5 Assists (-145)

WAGER: 1 Unit

This feels like the easiest prop in the world, right? Chances are when an Avalanche goal is scored, Cale Makar is factoring into it one way or another.

Makar is arguably the best defenseman on the planet and already has 10 points in four playoff games. Of those 10 points, seven of them have been assists.

He’s a game-breaker with the puck and is unmatched in his ability to drive the offense. I’ll be stunned if he doesn’t assist at least one of Colorado’s goals on Tuesday night.
