Time is running out, and Survivor pools have continued to dwindle. For the lucky souls still alive, it’s been a long road to reach this point. With that said, the final two weeks might be the longest of all.
Week 17 features some double-digit point spreads along with a handful of playable games. Before we dive in, here’s a breakdown of the NFL Week 17 odds.
Now, time to survive.
Survivor Week 17 Best Picks
Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots
Two months ago, the Patriots beat the Bills. That upset was a shakeup on the Survivor front, and it was also the start of a rough stretch for Buffalo.
Now, however, the outlook is different. While the Bills barely got past the Chargers on the road last week, a cross-country trip is rarely easy.
Despite that close call and the outcome of the previous game between these two teams, Buffalo figures to cruise here. QB Josh Allen has played his way into the MVP conversation, and he should do the heavy lifting.
New England is looking at the draft at this point. As such, don’t expect the most ferocious effort.

San Francisco 49ers @ Washington Commanders
The 49ers are coming off a crushing loss at home, albeit to a very good team.
Although the slipup against the Ravens could have a lingering effect, the oddsmakers don’t believe that will be the case. Despite traveling across the country, San Francisco is a sizable favorite.
Assuming QB Brock Purdy doesn’t become a turnover machine again, this result should be much different.
For Washington, last week’s game against the Jets featured a bit of everything. After falling behind early, the Commanders rallied to take the lead. They deserve credit for doing so, but a late field goal ultimately did them in.
With the season coming to a conclusion, Washington has run out of things to play for. Going against a motivated 49ers squad won’t help matters one bit.

Survivor Week 17 Sleeper
Dallas Cowboys vs Detroit Lions
The Lions have won the NFC North for the first time in 30 years. Kudos to head coach Dan Campbell for a job well done.
Detroit now heads on the road to take on another dome team. While the Cowboys are coming off a semi-heartbreaking loss to Miami, this feels like the right game at the right time.
Dallas has yet to lose at home this season. In fact, only one game has resulted in a single-digit win. The rest have largely been blowouts.
While Detroit has proved to be plenty capable, especially indoors, Dallas might have the greatest home-field advantage in the NFL right now. Even against a very good team, they should be able to cruise to another victory.
Don’t shy away from this high-profile game.
Survivor Week 17 Team to Save for the Future
Baltimore Ravens vs Miami Dolphins
The “future,” of course, amounts to one week. That’s what we have remaining in the season.
In terms of saving potential teams to use, one need only look at Week 18. The equation can become more challenging when it comes to starters playing and other factors, but the Ravens should be pocketed for this week.
For one, after such a dominating win over the 49ers, there’s the possibility of a letdown. Oh, and Miami isn’t exactly a slouch either. This shapes up as a great game between two very good teams.
Perhaps more impactful, however, is the fact that the Ravens play the Steelers at home next week. What will that game mean to both teams? Time will tell. But we’re saving Baltimore with an eye toward the future.
Survivor Week 17 Chalk Team That Could Lose
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Carolina Panthers
The Jaguars have lost four straight games, Trevor Lawrence’s throwing shoulder isn’t 100%, and all is not well in Jacksonville.
A season that started with such promise has taken a turn. At this point, a loss to the worst team in football – which is currently playing its best football – wouldn’t be all that shocking.
If Lawrence can’t play, backup C. J. Beathard will get the call, but it probably doesn’t matter either way.
On Carolina’s front, Bryce Young is slowly but surely starting to look the part. The rookie QB has flashed over the past few weeks, and Carolina suddenly has some life.
While Jacksonville will still be a sizable favorite at home, buyer beware. It has not gone well of late, and the most recent developments are concerning.
