Dak Prescott Prop Bets

Dak Prescott prop betting tickets will be popular items when the Dallas Cowboys face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL playoffs’ Divisional Round on Sunday night.

Dallas’ 31-14 Super Wild Card Weekend win Monday over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showcased a five-touchdown day from Prescott, while reminding the league that a revived Cowboys offense can thrive through the air (especially as we’ve seen RB Ezekiel Elliott‘s production and burst decline this year).

The Cowboys likely will have to throw often to keep pace with the 49ers and surprisingly strong QB Brock Purdy, whose own offense is stacked with difference-making skill players.

All NFL Divisional Round odds used in these props are current as of Friday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. ET.

Dak Prescott Rushing Yards Prop

Dak Prescott: Over 13.5 Rushing Yards (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.2 Units

I’ll dig more into his passing projection later, but Prescott might be running for his life a bit more than usual against the Niners.

LT Jason Peters (hip) hasn’t practiced Wednesday or Thursday and could miss this game. The uncertainty of whether Tyron Smith would slide over from right tackle or rookie Tyler Smith will assume that role is a bit scary, considering lining up across the way is 49ers edge rusher and Defensive Player of the Year candidate Nick Bosa.

Thus, Prescott likely will be scrambling more frequently, making this an easy NFL pick of the day for this Dak Prescott props preview. (I would even look for alternate betting opportunities for 20-plus rushing yards, which may carry a more favorable line for the bettor.)

Dak Prescott Passing Yards Prop

Dak Prescott: Over 254.5 Passing Yards (-121) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.2 Units

As a pass-funnel defense, the 49ers have yielded at least 250 passing yards in three of their past four contests. The QBs who took advantage were the Commanders’ combo of Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz; the Raiders’ Jarrett Stidham; and, the best of this uninspiring lot, the Seahawks’ Geno Smith in last week’s NFL playoffs clash.

This season, Prescott has thrown for 250-plus yards in nine of his 13 starts (69% success rate) — including five of his past six — and he’s attempted 30-plus passes in each of his past eight outings.

Prescott’s Week 18 clunker will stick in many bettors’ minds, especially because the 49ers arguably present his toughest defensive test all year. Still, whatever game script you think this marquee game will follow, Prescott has a chance to pile up yards either as a chaser or in an opportunistic Kellen Moore strategy.

Dak’s usual feeds to CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz will come, and San Francisco has proven to be one of the weakest defenses against wide receivers — which could mean more from Michael Gallup and running back Tony Pollard.

With this scrambling in mind:

Dak Prescott Anytime Touchdown Prop

Dak Prescott: Anytime TD (+430) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 0.5 Units

I savored the (+800) bet on this last week that cashed, and despite the correction of the juice by the books catching up to Prescott’s rushing ability, I’ll bite again for a sprinkle.

Though the Niners’ linebacker crew could do well at spying, Prescott’s possible increase in rushing could pay off similarly in the red zone like Prescott did against the Bucs.
