I am ready for spiking this weekend. Not spiked fruit punch, but the Giants spiking the ball in the end zone as they beat the Vikings.
New York might be a small underdog on the road against Minnesota, but I believe that they will win. For betting purposes, this means that there are many great Giants vs Vikings Parlays to be placed.
From combining player props, game props, and full-game spread bets, the same-game parlay combinations are endless.
NFL Week Wild Card odds used in these parlays are current as of Wednesday, Jan. 11, at BetMGM Sportsbook.
Best Giants vs Vikings Same-Game Parlay
Giants vs Vikings Top Parlay (+230) at BetMGM Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Giants +3.5
- 2nd Half Highest Scoring
For my top parlay in the Giants/Vikings Wild Card Weekend game, I am combining the two theories that I am using for betting on the game.
The first theory is that the Giants will win. That is why I am adding Giants +3.5 as a leg when I am also betting on the moneyline and +3 mainline spread as part of my Giants vs Vikings best bets.
My second theory on the game applies to the other leg of my same-game parlay which is that the Giants perform the best in the second half of games. This explains why for my Giants vs Vikings prop bets, I like the Giants first drive to result in a punt.
New York put together a strong season finishing with a 9-7-1 record. What their record doesn’t show is some of their strong second-half performances.
Last week, when the G-Men lost to the Eagles, 22-16, they won the second half, 16-6. In their 27-24 loss to the Vikings on Christmas Eve, they overcame a 24-16 deficit with three minutes left, only for Minnesota to win off a 61-yard field goal.
At +230, I am intrigued by the possibility of the Giants covering a +3.5 spread, and the second half being the highest-scoring half of the game.
Longshot Giants vs Vikings Parlay
Giants vs Vikings Longshot Parlay (+1000) at BetMGM Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Vikings -6.5 1st Half
- Giants -2.5 Game
If you are looking for a longshot parlay for this weekend, you should consider placing a bet on two unrelated outcomes with the Vikings covering a -6.5 first-half spread and the Giants covering a -2.5 full-game spread.
At 10-1, you get what you pay for with this parlay, where hitting it is like threading a needle. For this bet to hit, the Giants need to net at least 10 points in the second half (including overtime).
This is assuming that the Vikings are leading by at least a touchdown at halftime.
Based on how NFL games are frequently approached strategically, it is plausible that this parlay hits.
First halves frequently are decided by exactly seven points, which is why me picking -6.5 as a leg was not an accident. For full-game NFL spreads, three is the most important number since about one out of every six NFL games is decided by exactly three points.
When you combine these two uncorrelated outcomes in a parlay, while keeping in mind the key numbers of seven and three, strategically at 10-1 this is a smart wager to make.
