Raiders vs Jaguars Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Both Las Vegas and Jacksonville have lousy records. The Jaguars are 2-6 and the Raiders are 2-5.

This weekend, the Raiders fly into Jacksonville as 1.5-point favorites based on the strength of their roster. After an embarrassing 24-0 loss against the Saints last week, the Raiders are narrow favorites to bounce back.

Below, check out my Las Vegas vs Jacksonville predictions.

Raiders vs Jaguars Odds

The odds appear to be an overreaction to Las Vegas’ loss last week against the Saints. Rather than making them 3-4 point favorites, they are expected to win a close, high-scoring game.

Take a look at the best Raiders odds and Jaguars odds for the 2022 NFL season.

All odds are current as of 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the listed sportsbooks.

Raiders vs Jaguars Implied Totals

Raiders vs Jaguars Prediction

Raiders 30, Jaguars 20

The big question for the Raiders is what to expect from quarterback Derek Carr. The 31-year-old veteran quarterback was pulled from the Saints game last week and replaced with Jarrett Stidham after a weak performance.

There is speculation that Carr’s run with the Raiders is over, but I think he has gas left in the tank. Carr has a 59.2 QBR, which is slightly better than the median starting NFL QB, and nine passing touchdowns to only five interceptions.

The Raiders have also played several tough opponents, which is why they have a losing record. What is notable is that in many of those games, Las Vegas lost by only one possession. That is why the Raiders have an average scoring margin of only -1.6 points despite having a poor win-loss record.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have been a disappointment this season. The Broncos did much better against them than their 21-17 score suggests from last week’s game, and they also have embarrassing losses to the Texans, Colts, Giants, and Commanders.

With a strong quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars should put points on the board, but I don’t think they can hang with Carr and the Raiders.

Raiders vs Jaguars Bet Tips

Here are some Raiders vs Jaguars betting trends to consider before placing your bets:

  • The Raiders are 0-4 on the road.
  • The Raiders are 3-4 against the spread, despite a 2-5 win-loss record.
  • The Jaguars are 1-2 at home and 1-4 on the road.

Raiders vs Jaguars Best Bets

Over 47.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Raiders can score, and so can the Jaguars. Both teams also have issues with defense.

What is the best bet in a game like this?

The Over.

Lawrence and Carr should go back and forth this weekend. Even though the Raiders should win, I expect the Jaguars to put points on the board.

Raiders Moneyline (-119) at BetRivers Sportsbook

The Raiders are -1.5 favorites, but I believe that the -119 moneyline presents better value. Since 2000, 4.17% of NFL games have either ended in a tie or a team winning by exactly a point. That’s why paying an extra nine cents for the moneyline is a great bet.

Las Vegas should win this weekend as Carr is a better QB than he is given credit for, and the Jaguars aren’t a strong team. If the line moves, I would take the Raiders spread up to -2.5.
