Colts vs Vikings Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Dec 12, 2022

The Indianapolis Colts will head to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings this Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.

The Colts will be returning to action after their bye in Week 14 and looking to snap a three-game losing streak. On the other hand, the Vikings will want to get back on track after dropping their second game in four weeks.

Colts vs Vikings Odds

Despite the massive disparity between these teams’ records, the Vikings are listed as meager 4-point favorites at home as of Monday, Dec. 12 at Caesars Sportsbook. The total is set at 47.5 points, indicating that this could be a somewhat high-scoring contest.

Take a look at the best Colts odds and Vikings odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Colts vs Vikings Implied Totals

Vikings 25.75, Colts 21.75

Bookmakers have the Vikings finishing with roughly 26 points, which is slightly above their season average in scoring. The Colts, who have the second-worst offense in the NFL, are generously being given 21.75 points.

Colts vs Vikings Prediction

Vikings 34, Colts 21

This game will be decided by how well the Colts can defend Minnesota’s passing attack and score against their suspect defense. The Lions just shredded the Vikings for 34 points with 394 yards through the air, which is a blueprint that Indianapolis may need to follow.

With that said, the Colts lack the creativity and ability that Detroit brings to the table on offense. Matt Ryan‘s play has been painfully uninspiring, and outside of Jonathan Taylor, Indy is pretty thin at the skill positions.

Even if the Colts do get something going, it’ll be difficult for them to out-gun the combination of Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson. The latter logged a career-high 223 receiving yards on Sunday, while Cousins’ 425 passing yards were his most in a game since 2018.

Indianapolis ranks third in passing yards allowed and 10th in net yards per attempt, but we also just saw them give up three scores through the air in their 54-19 loss to the Cowboys.

I’m leaning blowout here. The Colts are cooked, and the Vikings need to bounce back if they want to maintain their standing in the NFC.

Colts vs Vikings Best Bets

Over 47.5 Points (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Indianapolis should be good for a few scores against a weak Minnesota defense. Assuming they can score roughly 20 points, I like the Over to hit at 47.5 points.

Vikings -4 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Vikings were embarrassed on the road last week by a division rival and will be eager to put the loss behind them. A favorable matchup at home against the Colts is a great spot for this team to get back on track ahead of their Week 16 meeting with the Giants.
