NFL Christmas Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Dec 25, 2022

We all love Christmas.

However, Christmas is a little bit more special in 2022 because it falls on an NFL Sunday. While NFL schedule makers shifted the slate around so that the majority of the games will be played on Christmas Eve (Saturday), we still have three games that will be played throughout Christmas Day.

The best part about getting NFL action on Christmas is that we have three games to bet on. What better way to unwind from a hectic day or to get away from cousin Jimmy who talks your ear off about nonsense than by sitting back and watching your bets unfold?

How many times can we really watch “A Christmas Story" on-loop, anyway? This year, the NFL gives us a break.

Now let’s take a look at my NFL Christmas predictions and best bets for Week 16.

Anthony Cervino’s 2022 NFL Best Bets Record: 31-48 (-20.5 Units)

All NFL odds and lines are current as of 1:30 p.m. ET, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Caesars Sportsbook.

NFL Christmas Best Bet: Packers vs Dolphins

Packers +4 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Packers find themselves in a position where they can make the NFL playoffs if the proverbial bounces go in their direction. They’ll have to win out and get help, but it is not out of the equation.

Winners of two straight games, the Packers will look to continue running the table against the Dolphins.

Once viewed as one of the best teams in the NFL and contenders for the AFC East, the Dolphins have now lost three straight games, all of which to teams with a winning record.

The Packers are not as good as the 49ers, Chargers, or Bills, but they are now getting healthier and will not be an easy out. It is difficult to bet against Aaron Rodgers when it looks like he is fully invested.

NFL Christmas Best Bet: Broncos vs Rams

Under 36.5 Points (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

This Broncos vs Rams game features two of the worst teams in the NFL, but if there is one thing the Broncos do well, it’s playing defense.

When it comes to offense or lack thereof, both teams are pitiful. Denver is ranked No. 32 in scoring while Los Angeles is ranked No. 31.

The Under is 3-1 in the past four Rams’ games. It is also 8-2 in Denver’s past 10 games.

It is important to note that the Over hit in the Broncos’ past two games, but they played the Chiefs in one of them. That is forgivable.

This game should be one of the lowest-scoring matchups on the Week 16 slate. If your sportsbook has a “no team to score a touchdown" special, it is worth a sprinkle.

NFL Christmas Best Bet: Buccaneers vs Cardinals

Buccaneers -6.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Like the Cardinals, the Buccaneers have not lived up to expectations. However, the Bucs can still qualify for the playoffs as long as they win the NFC South.

Despite losing last week to the Bengals, Tampa Bay’s offense looked the best it has in weeks.

In theory, this SNF game should be a gimme for the Buccaneers facing a Cardinals team that will have Trace McSorley under center.

The Buccaneers need a get-right game to gain momentum for a potential postseason run, which is in play, as nasty as it sounds. The Cardinals are on the schedule at the right time.
