Rams vs Chiefs Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Nov 22, 2022

It is all falling apart in Los Angeles. The Rams are 3-7 and could be down their top two quarterbacks for their Week 12 matchup at the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, the Rams will attempt to challenge a surging 8-2 Chiefs team coming off another impressive primetime win over the Chargers.

Here is my Los Angeles vs Kansas City NFL best bets and betting tips for Week 12.

Rams vs Chiefs Odds

The Chiefs are 14.5-point favorites at home over the spiraling Rams. This line suggests that the oddsmakers are not giving Los Angeles a shot with or without Matthew Stafford under center.

The Rams may be the defending Super Bowl Champions but have yet to look the part at any point in 2022.

Take a look at the best Rams odds and Chiefs odds for the 2022 NFL season.

All odds and lines are current as of 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 22, at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Rams vs Chiefs Implied Totals

Chiefs 29, Rams 15

The oddsmakers are clearly projecting a blowout. While the Chiefs are in the argument for the NFL’s best team, you can make the case that the Rams are one of the worst.

To make matters worse, Stafford is in the NFL’s concussion protocol for the second time in a three-week span, putting him in danger of missing Week 12.

The score discrepancy is warranted.

Rams vs Chiefs Prediction

Chiefs 31, Rams 14

The bookmakers are projecting a blowout and so am I. While Stafford (concussion) is more than likely to miss Sunday’s game at Arrowhead, we may not see John Wolford (neck) either — not like it would make a difference.

Assuming both Stafford and Wolford are sidelined, we could be looking at a Bryce Perkins vs Patrick Mahomes matchup, unless the Rams sign a quarterback off the street.

Even if we do see Stafford, it won’t make a difference. This Rams team has not been competitive in 2022 and is entering their second game sans Cooper Kupp.

While the Chiefs have won six of their past seven games, the Rams are 1-6 in that same seven-game time period.

And despite the fact that the Chiefs have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Rams will be hard-pressed to exploit it since they are bottom five offensively in most categories. And that was with a healthy Stafford and Kupp.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ offense has been rolling, and I don’t see it changing. They may not be able to run the football, but they win games with Mahomes, a feat that will continue in Week 12.

Rams vs Chiefs Bet Tips

Here are a few Rams vs Chiefs betting trends to consider before making your bets:

  • The Rams are 0-3-1 against the spread in their past four games overall.
  • The Rams are 0-5-1 in their past six meetings against the Chiefs.
  • The Chiefs have won four straight games outright while the Rams are on a four-game losing streak.
  • The Over is 3-1 in the past four games the Rams have played overall.

Rams vs Chiefs Best Bets

Chiefs -14.5 (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

While 14.5 is a ton of points to cover, there is no reason to believe that the Rams will keep this game close or competitive. How could there be?

If the Rams failed to compete with both Stafford and Kupp healthy, how could we assume that they will when both are more than likely out?

Two weeks ago, Stafford was sidelined and the Rams were handled 27-17 by the Cardinals. Just imagine what the Chiefs are going to do.

I would feel safer buying this line down to -14. But I will happily take it at -14.5.

Over 44 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Forty-four points is a reasonable total for this matchup. If the Chiefs play up to their capability, they should get 30 by themselves, especially since 30 points per game is their per-game average, which is tops in the NFL. The question I have is if the Rams can do their part and get just north of 14 points.

While it will be tough, it is not impossible. The Rams still have competent weapons and get a Chiefs’ defense that is conceding 23.3 ppg, putting them 21st in that category. We may even need the Rams to do less if the Chiefs really get rolling and drop 35-plus, which is not out of the realm of possibility.

I see the Chiefs’ offense getting an uptick in opportunities considering we are expected to see a reserve at quarterback for the Rams while their offense has given the ball away 15 times on the year anyway, good for fifth-most in the league.
