Humpty dumpty had a great fall, and so did the Packers. The Vikings are the only NFC North team with a winning record, and the Bears and Packers are at the bottom of the divisional standings.
Even though the game is in Chicago, Green Bay is the clear favorite. Both teams have uncertainty at quarterback, but the situation with Chicago is even more uncertain.
For my Green Bay vs Chicago predictions, I’ll go over all of this to determine my best bets.
Packers vs Bears Odds
As of Thursday at Caesars Sportsbook, the Packers are a 4.5-point favorite against the Bears with a point total of 43.5 points. Green Bay should be favored, but they are favored by too much based on an overreaction to Chicago’s quarterback situation.

Packers vs Bears Prediction
Packers 17, Bears 14
Of starting quarterbacks in the NFL this season, Aaron Rodgers has the sixth worst QBR. Only Mac Jones, Carson Wentz, Russell Wilson, Davis Mills, and Baker Mayfield have a worse QBR than Rodgers.
Looking at Rodgers QBR is important because if you just looked at his traditional stats — ninth in the NFL in passing yards, fourth in TDs — you’d think he was fine.
The variable for Green Bay is if Rodgers will play. He was injured at the end of the Eagles game last Sunday, and he hasn’t been practicing this week. If he is replaced by Jordan Love, the Packers may be better off.
The Bears are dealing with a QB situation as well. Justin Fields is coming into his own in his sophomore season, but he missed last week’s game due to injury, and Trevor Siemian played in his place.
Siemian is a noticeable downgrade from Fields, and like Fields, he is also hurt. Siemian is the likely starter this Sunday, but like Rodgers, it’s important to stay up to date with the latest news.
Regardless of who plays at quarterback for both teams, I expect a low-scoring game that the Packers probably narrowly win.
Packers vs Bears Bet Tips
Here are a few Packers vs Bears betting trends to consider before making your bets:
- Packers have a 4-8 win-loss record and are 4-8 against the spread.
- Bears are 3-9, and 4-7-1 ATS.
- The books are likely to adjust the lines frequently due to injury news.
Packers vs Bears Best Bets
Under 43.5 Points (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
WAGER: 2 Units
The point total is at 43.5, which is about average for an NFL game. With uncertainty at quarterback for both teams, the Under is a great bet to make.
If Rodgers plays, the Packers are likely to suffer. If Love plays, he could have some growing pains. For the Bears, they need Fields to play, otherwise they are stuck with Siemian.
Based on what we know on Thursday, the Under is the best bet for this game.

Bears: 1st Drive Punt (-155) at Caesars Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
Based on Siemian and Fields not practicing much this week, I expect the Bears to have a slow start offensively. For me, this points to betting on Chicago to punt on their first drive as a great bet.
As long as the Bears don’t cross midfield, I will not be sweating this bet out.
