Carolina was staring a 2-0 series deficit in the face on Thursday night, but Rod Brind’Amour’s squad produced a potentially season-saving effort with a flurry of third-period goals and the eventual overtime game-winner from Seth Jarvis.
While getting the split at home was pivotal for the Canes, the way they did it could prove to be even more important.
Carolina’s power play came through with two pivotal goals after going 7-for-58 (12.1%) in its first 14 playoff games. Among those was Jarvis’s OT winner, which could prove to be a turning point for the team’s top regular-season goalscorer (32), who had previously netted just three times this postseason.
