This is a game for the ages. The battle of the top-two quarterbacks taken in this past year’s NFL Draft.
But sadly, both teams are atrocious. The Jaguars were home favorites over the Houston Texans in Week 15 and lost by two scores, but the Jets did manage to cover against the Miami Dolphins.
This is going to be a tough game to watch, but let’s try to win some money, huh?

Richard’s Prediction Picks Record: 10-13 (-0.35 units)
Jaguars vs Jets Prediction
Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence are among the worst quarterbacks in the league. No, their teams don’t help that, but they both have at least 15 turnover-worthy plays, according to Pro Football Focus. While Lawrence has more, keep in mind that Wilson missed time with an injury, so it’s safe to say he would be up there with Lawrence’s 21, too.
The Jaguars are void of any talent. Their only deep threat is an aging Marvin Jones Jr. and the rest of their receivers have an average depth of target in the low single digits.
To further illustrate how dire the circumstances are for the Jaguars, their emerging option opposite Jones Jr. is Laquon Treadwell.

The Jets don’t have much going on either, but they are more talented at the receiver position.
The running game matchup leans toward the Jaguars and James Robinson, who’s coming off a rushing touchdown in the post-Urban Meyer era.
With a game like this, you need to take a look at the full body of work. The Jaguars are a legitimately bad team with minimal hope besides Lawrence, and that won’t change until this team drastically improves.
Prediction: Jets 17, Jaguars 14
Jaguars vs Jets Best Bets
Best Bet: Jets Moneyline (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 0.5 Units
I’m going to reserve my bet here to 0.5 units because both of these teams are so bad that it could get interesting in the turnover department. New York also has experienced a COVID-19 outbreak, which has seen 17 players and Head Coach Robert Saleh put on the reserve/COVID list.
However, at home, the Jets have shown the ability to at least score in some creative ways—albeit just a few—giving them the edge here.
In hindsight, it’s insane to imagine the Jaguars having a full touchdown in the spread column against the Texans in Week 15.
This team is downright bad, and while the Jets are no better, at least they have cornerback Bryce Hall, who has been competent this season. He should handle either Jones Jr. or Treadwell and then it’s going to be a rough situation for Lawrence.
In a pick’em, I’ll take the Jets here.
Side note: If any player props for either quarterback come in concerning rushing yards, I’d take the Over on both.
Best Bet: Under 41.5 Total Points (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 0.25 Units
We’re going even lower on the units here because, again, the turnovers could be what makes this game get a bit crazy in the scoring department.
You could check on this game and it could be 30-28 and it’s because of fumbles, interceptions, and more, while neither quarterback has a touchdown to their name.
However, both offenses have been horrific this season. Both quarterbacks have been horrific. Both defenses have been horrific.
Unless the turnovers turn the tide here, this is going to be a run-focused game, and we may hear the telecast use the word “gritty" a few times.
This is going to be a tough game to watch all around, culminating with the Under.
