Deebo Samuel continued his reign of terror last weekend, recording 44 receiving yards, 39 rushing yards, and another 59 yards on kick returns in San Francisco’s come-from-behind victory over the Green Bay Packers.
The All-Pro wideout has become a vital piece of the 49ers offense in his third NFL season. He’s also one of the most entertaining players in the league, churning out highlight plays on a weekly basis.
San Francisco will meet the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game this weekend, and if his past performances are any indication of what’s to come, Samuel should be in for another big day.
Let’s get into our favorite player props for Samuel ahead of this NFC West showdown.

Over 40.5 Rushing Yards (-115) at BetMGM

Unlike last week’s matchup, we have plenty of data to look at when it comes to Samuel’s ability as a runner against this Rams defense.
In Week 10, he had five carries for 36 yards and a touchdown, and in Week 18, he had eight carries for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Based on these numbers, Samuel’s prop has been set appropriately at 40.5 rushing yards. However, I still feel that the Over is the better bet here, mostly due to his increased usage as a rusher in recent weeks.
Samuel has logged back-to-back games with 10 carries, which is the most he’s had a single game this season. If he sees that same volume against the Rams this week — a team he’s averaging 6.23 yards per carry against this year — he should be able to hit the Over on this prop.
UNDER 52.5 Receiving Yards (-115) at BetMGM
Wager: 1 Unit
As Samuel’s carries increase, his targets and receptions will decrease. We’ve seen this play out over the past two weeks — Samuel has a combined seven targets to 20 rushing attempts since the 49ers entered the postseason.

It’s still risky to take the Under since Samuel can certainly make big plays through the air, and he could easily hit the Over on this prop with only two or three receptions. He’s also only gone under 52.5 receiving yards five times this year.
However, given that three of Samuel’s best rushing performances have come in the last five weeks, it seems more likely that the 49ers stick with this newer approach.

Samuel has already scored three touchdowns in two games against the Rams this year, and with his ability to score in a variety of ways, this looks like an easy choice.
Whether the 49ers are in control of the game and focusing on their rushing attack or trying to keep up through the air, Samuel will remain a focal point of the offense and a threat to get the ball into the end zone, making this our NFL bet of the day.
