2021 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 7: Top Pickups
Alec Burks, SG/SF, New York Knicks (31% Rostered)
Alec Burks has risen into fantasy relevance once more as one of the Knicks’ best complementary scorers. Despite a slow start, Burks is averaging 14 points per game over his last 7 and shooting nearly 50% from 3 in this span. He has not played fewer than 22 minutes in a single matchup during this stretch and can also supply 4 rebounds and 2 stocks (steals + blocks).
Grabbing Burks may be key if the Knicks continue to use him in closing lineups and he gets double-digit shot opportunities per game.

Pat Connaughton, SF/PF Milwaukee Bucks (34% Rostered)
The Bucks were in dire need of Pat Connaughton‘s assistance while Khris Middleton sat out due to COVID. Connaughton showed up in a big way as he is doubling his career scoring average while shooting a career-best 40.2% from beyond the arc.
With a handful of threes per game, five rebounds, a steal, and 11.7 points on a good FG%, Connaughton is nearing quality asset territory. He finds himself top-100 in player raters and could stick even with his recently limited role. The minutes have ticked down the past 3 games due to Middleton’s return but that’s no worry as long as he continues to shoot while on the court.

2021 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 7: Best Players To Stash
Marcus Morris Sr., SF/PF, Los Angeles Clippers (20% Rostered)
Marcus Morris Sr. returned from a prolonged absence to start the season due to knee strengthening/conditioning. He did a decent job as a starter with 31 minutes played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks, but the efficiency was lackluster at 4-for-12 from the field.
As he gets back into the swing of things, Morris should become more comfortable and productive with a new Clippers team that misses F Kawhi Leonard. Morris is far from a direct replacement there, but his added volume could help in the offense department.

Nassir Little, SF/PF, Portland Trail Blazers (10% Rostered)
Nassir Little is finally hitting his stride. After starting his career from a significantly lower draft slot than expected, Little still found himself in a good spot as the Blazers develop their own talent well. The team needed someone of Little’s archetype to help their weaknesses defending wings and the perimeter.
Little has doubled his career rebound average and scoring while averaging a career-high FT and FG percentage. The former North Carolina standout is supplying 1.5 stocks per game in just 21.9 minutes as well. If Portland were to give him more playing time, there could be top-50 potential given his pedigree and the talent around him.

2021 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 7: One-Week Streamer Plays
Jae’Sean Tate, SF/PF, Houston Rockets (64% Rostered)
The Houston Rockets are a mess but there is still some fantasy value to be found. Jae’Sean Tate plays four games next week and can provide a little bit of everything. He’s playing 2 fewer minutes per game than last year but has a similar scoring average and more rebounds. Tate does not hurt your FG with his 47.7% on 9.1 attempts per game nor does he hurt FT with his percentage boosted from 69.4% last year to 73.2%. Grab him if you need a category glue guy.
- Jae’Sean Tate Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 1-3%
Dorian Finney-Smith, SF/PF, Dallas Mavericks (20% Rostered)
Dorian Finney-Smith is somewhat of a lesser Jae’Sean Tate for fantasy purposes. While he does provide an elite steal average, his scoring, rebounding, and assists are lower while shooting poorly from FG and FT. Luckily, DFS does not take many shots in general, so the net effect is not very damaging. He is averaging 11.3 points over the last 6 games which is encouraging considering for a streamer. Four games next week should help smooth out a down game or two.
