An obvious big key for the Baltimore Ravens when trying to beat the Kansas City Chiefs this week will be to limit any big plays from Travis Kelce.
The superstar tight end has six-plus catches and 70-plus receiving yards in each of his five career games against the Ravens.
The Chiefs must get the best out of Kelce to have a shot at returning to the Super Bowl. I am not expecting a stellar outing from him, though, and Kelce might finish very close to his projected reception and yardage totals.
Check out our best Travis Kelce Prop Bets for Championship Sunday below.
Kelce has failed to clear the projected receptions total in five of his last seven games. A lack of consistent playmaking support from the Kansas City WRs has contributed to limiting Kelce’s ceiling in the receptions department.
The 34-year-old will undoubtedly be the primary defensive focus of Baltimore’s pass defense, which ranked fifth during the regular season.
The Ravens have not allowed an opposing TE to reach the six-reception mark in five of the last six games (not counting the regular season finale when starters were rested.
In road games this season, Kelce has averaged 5.9 receptions. I believe he will fall just short of that number as Patrick Queen does a good job and gets enough help against him in coverage.
I am not expecting an upside performance at all from Kelce, as evidenced by the total receptions wager. But I do think he can finish with respectable yardage numbers and he should get past this projected yardage total.
Kelce has finished with 70-plus receiving yards in both of his playoff games so far this season.
I am leaning to Baltimire to win, yet Kelce has averaged 62 yards per game in Kansas City losses this season, which puts him right in range to convert on this wager.
Ultimately, I am forecasting a five-reception, 70-yard day for Kelce, which will make both of my projected props a sweat. I don’t think the Ravens’ defense will completely shut Kelce down, but he won’t come through with a better than decent outing.
