While the Chiefs and 49ers have multiple headline-grabbing stars on offense, both teams have featured strong defense for much of the season. During the regular season, Kansas City ranked second in scoring defense (17.3) and San Francisco was third (17.5).

The Chiefs have allowed 13.6 points per game during the playoffs, and while San Francisco has been more forgiving in terms of points allowed, the Niners still have significant star power on defense, such as three-time First Team All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner and four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Nick Bosa.

We highlight some key defensive Super Bowl 58 defensive props to bet on including sacks and tackles for Chiefs and 49ers players.

All Super Bowl 58 odds used in these defensive betting props are current as of Feb. 9, 2024, at 11 a.m.. ET.

Super Bowl 58 Defensive Betting Prop Pick of the Day

Best Super Bowl Defensive Props To Bet

Nick Bosa: Over 0.25 Sacks (-115)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 Units

Prior to the NFC Championship Game, Bosa had not registered a sack in four consecutive games. He had two sacks against Detroit and now draws a good matchup in Super Bowl 58 against Kansas City.

According to Pro Football Focus, Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor has allowed 54 pressures during the playoffs, and he had a 41.0 overall grade during the regular season, which ranked 27th among 28 qualifying offensive tackles.

Bosa’s pass rush grade of 92.6 this season is the highest of his career, as highlighted by PFF.

Nick Bolton: Over 5.5 Solo Tackles (+100)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

The Kansas City middle linebacker has surpassed the projected solo tackle just once in 11 games played this season, including the playoffs. But he has reached the five-solo tackle mark in five of his past seven games and should clear the number in this matchup.

Bolton is the quarterback of the Chiefs’ defense and will have to account heavily for defending Christian McCaffrey and the deepest playmaking crew in the NFL. It will be a very busy night for Bolton, as the 49ers may look to avoid the Kansas City secondary often and move the ball through a solid run game and many throws to the running back and tight end.

Expect the third-year LB to be ready for the biggest stage in pro football again. Bolton had eight solo tackles in Super Bowl 57.

Chiefs Team Tackles for a Loss: Under 4.5 (+110)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

In the NFC Championship Game, the 49ers allowed five tackles for a loss to an aggressive Detroit defensive front that needed to protect a vulnerable back end. In the Divisional Round vs Green Bay, the Niners allowed one tackle for a loss and I don’t expect as many negative plays this week.

The Kansas City defense is formidable but did not have more than three tackles for a loss in two of three playoff games. I expect Brock Purdy to get rid of the ball quickly as San Francisco utilizes a high-percentage passing approach.
