We’ve seen this story before.

A former MVP and at-the-top-of-his-game quarterback faces off against a young, upstart quarterback who has all the tools to join him atop the pyramid. This is the story of Lamar Jackson and C.J. Stroud.

The Baltimore Ravens have looked extremely solid all season, steamrolling over opponents strong and weak on their way to the first overall seed in the AFC playoffs. They were always expected to be in this spot.

The Houston Texans, on the other hand, were absolutely NOT supposed to be in this spot. Originally given 8/1 to win the AFC South, they surpassed all expectations and won the division in Week 18 over the Indianapolis Colts.

Let’s take a look at some of the best Ravens vs. Texans Divisional Round Player Prop bets.

NFL odds used in these props are current as of Jan. 18.

Best Ravens vs. Texans Divisional Round Player Props

Zay Flowers:

Flowers has had a solid season, by the recent standards that we’ve seen in the NFL. He’s acted as a massive help to a passing offense that desperately needed a short-to-intermediate weapon other than Mark Andrews, and the Ravens have absolutely benefitted from it.

He gets a solid matchup here against a Texans’ passing defense that has struggled in recent weeks, especially when in zone coverage, allowing a near-15% explosive play rate, a bottom-seven number in the league this season.

Flowers’ best games come against zone coverage, where he leads the Ravens’ receivers in Yards Per Route Run and should have a great game here.

With Andrews back, I expect Flowers to have some open field in front of him as well, so go ahead and grab his 0ver here.

C.J. Stroud:

Very, very quietly, the Ravens have allowed quarterbacks to run all over them this season.

TEN different quarterbacks have run for ten or more yards against them, and Stroud is no exception, having run for 20 on four carries in Week 1 against them. The Ravens definitely have struggled against the run this season.

With the Ravens planning to bring pressure from all angles, expect Stroud to use his legs plenty in this one.

Best Ravens vs. Texans Team Prop Bets

Ravens:

DraftKings Sportsbook • 1 Unit

The Ravens have had no issue scoring this season, scoring 27 or more points in 10 of 17 games. It’s also worth noting that Week 18 shouldn’t count against them, as they sat most of their starters.

Looking at this game, this could be a one-sided matchup to the Ravens, despite how they came out looking in Week 1. In that game, they were figuring out new offensive systems, didn’t have all of their top players, and things take time to gel.

Jackson has looked great over the second half of the season, cementing his MVP case in Week 17 with the 56-19 win over the Miami Dolphins. Now that he also gets Andrews back, he could do some real damage to this Texans’ defense.

This feels like a great spot for the under, considering that outdoor divisional playoff games tend to lean lower-scoring.

Houston is 8-0 to the first-half under in games away from home, plus they have not looked great in outdoor settings with Stroud this season, averaging only 12 points per game.
