The Seahawks eclipsed double digit wins for the third consecutive season in 2020, marking the eighth time in the last nine years under head coach Pete Carroll.
According to Seattle’s star wide receiver DK Metcalf, the rest of the league figured out their offense down the stretch last season, as they were run heavy on the first two downs, and would throw deep on third down. This led to the firing of offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, and as a result, the Seahawks brought in Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron to take his place.
With a new-look offense, Russell Wilson will return for his 10th season in the NFL, which have all been spent as the quarterback of the Seahawks. Along with his favorite target in Metcalf, Wilson will have Tyler Lockett, second-round pick D’Wayne Eskridge, Gerald Everett, Chris Carson and a healthy Rashaad Penny to work with on offense.
On defense, the Seahawks brought back edge rusher Carlos Dunlap on a two-year deal worth $16.6 million, and signed cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon in free agency. Seattle also has superstar safety Jamal Adams, free safety Quandre Diggs and linebacker Bobby Wagner to round out a talented defensive unit.
Throughout the Carroll-Wilson era in Seattle, the Seahawks have consistently been postseason contenders. In 2021, it is fair to expect them to go over 9.5 wins.
Seahawks Prop Bets 2021: Player Bet Picks
Russell Wilson Over 4,250.5 Passing Yards (-112)
Although Russell Wilson has never thrown for over 4,250.5 passing yards in his career, he is coming off his best season as a pro, where he threw for 4,212 yards and 40 touchdowns.
Under a new offensive coordinator in Waldron, Wilson will be at the forefront under center in a fresh system, which will hopefully be more creative next season. And if Wilson continues to trend upward, The Game Day likes him as a sleeper to set a career-high with over 4,250.5 passing yards in 2021.
DK Metcalf Over 1,300.5 Receiving Yards (+100)
After a promising rookie season in 2019, DK Metcalf followed up with a monster sophomore campaign last year, where he caught 83 passes for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Metcalf solidified himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL last season, and in all likelihood, he will once again be showcasing his talent as the No. 1 target for Russell Wilson.
The third-year wideout averaged a total of 81.4 yards per game in 2020, and if he can keep up that pace, he should easily hit over 1,300.5 receiving yards.
Chris Carson Over 975.5 Rushing Yards (+100)
Chris Carson has emerged as the No. 1 running back in the Seahawks’ backfield over the course of the past three seasons. However, a foot injury caused him to miss four games in 2020, which saw him rush for just 681 yards on 141 attempts.
However, Carson rushed for over 1,100 yards in back-to-back seasons from 2018-19 when fully healthy. And if he can avoid the injury bug in his 2021 campaign, the best bet would be to take him at (+100) to rush for over 975.5 yards on the ground.
