Here is our best MLB Betting Pick Of The Day, including the Best Baseball Pick Today, 9/24/21. All odds for September 24 MLB bet picks were obtained from DraftKings.
There’s only a little over a week until we get some playoff baseball. This season, I’ve been picking on poor pitching. Once the playoffs come around, it’s much harder to find team total spots worth taking in comparison to the regular season.
So, let’s continue to hit on poor pitching while we can.

MLB Bet Of The Day 9/24/21
San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies (8:10 p.m. ET)
- Probable Pitchers: SFG LHP Alex Wood @ COL RHP Peter Lambert
If you don’t recognize the name Peter Lambert, you won’t be the only one. Lambert will take the mound for the Rockies for the first time since 2019. Lambert had been sidelined due to having Tommy John surgery and is now back to prove he belongs in the Colorado rotation next season.
In 2019, Lambert was dreadful for the Rockies, sporting a 3-7 record along with a 7.25 ERA. At this point, we have no idea how long he’ll go, but you’d assume he’ll have a strict pitch count.
In 2019, Lambert had a 5.66 xFIP, along with just 13.5 percent strikeouts and 8.6 percent walks. He was crushed with a high amount of line drives allowed, and that led to a high batting average of balls in play as well.
Lambert faced 191 lefties and allowed a wOBA of .430 with an ISO of .272. Then to righties, he faced 230 batters and allowed a wOBA of .380 and ISO of .232.
Those numbers are dreadful, and now to make his return, he’ll face a red hot Giants team that is looking for their 100th win of the season in Coors Field.
In the last 30 days, the Giants have crushed righties with an ISO of .263 and wOBA of .387 as a team. With that kind of power, Coors Field should treat San Francisco very well. Lambert has never had success in the majors, and going up against the best team in baseball will be extremely tricky.
Even if Lambert comes out of the game early, going up against a Colorado bullpen that has also been dreadful should do the trick for the Giants to get over on their first five innings team total of 3.5.
