Colorado State vs Colorado Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Sep 15, 2023

Deion Sanders will look to lead Colorado to a 3-0 start when the Buffaloes host the Colorado State Rams this Saturday in the Rocky Mountain Rivalry at Boulder’s Folsom Field.

The Buffaloes opened the season with two big wins over TCU and Nebraska, while the Rams suffered an opening week loss to Washington State.

Who will win this Saturday’s marquee matchup? Find out with our free Colorado State vs Colorado college football picks and predictions for Saturday, Sept. 16, at 10:00 p.m. ET.

NCAAF lines used for Colorado State @ Colorado were current as of Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m. EST on Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Colorado (-2400) • Colorado State (+1150)
  • Spread: Colorado -24 (-110) • Colorado State +24.0 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 61 (-110) • Under 61 (-110)

Colorado is a massive favorite, making the money line an impractical bet. If you are looking to place a wager on the Rocky Mountain Rivalry, be sure to do so on the run line.

Colorado State vs Colorado Prediction

SCORE PICK: Colorado 52, Colorado State 17

The Buffaloes are massive favorites and for good reason. Colorado State struggled greatly against Washington State due to the dynamic play of quarterback Cameron Ward, who completed 37-of-49 passes for 451 yards and three touchdowns.

Colorado State will face a similar challenge squaring off against Shedeur Sanders, who carved up TCU for 520 yards through the air with four touchdowns.

The Rams will have difficulty trying to defend Xavier Weaver, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr., and I expect the Buffaloes to exploit Colorado State’s secondary on the perimeter.

Colorado State has not been very effective offensively and will be making a change at quarterback for the Rocky Mountain Rivalry as red-shirt freshman Bradyen Fowler-Nicolosi is expected to start.

If the Rams are going to have any chance of making this a game, they will need a flawless performance from Fowler-Nicolosi, who will likely need to throw the ball 50-plus times to keep pace with Colorado. However, I anticipate multiple turnovers, with Taijh Alston disrupting the Rams’ offense all night.

This is going to be a one-sided affair controlled by the Buffaloes. (Bet on Primetime’s sizzling squad with our markets for Colorado CFB odds.)

Colorado State vs Colorado Best Bets

Colorado -24 (-110)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

As mentioned above, I expect Sanders to spread the ball around against a weak Rams secondary, while the Buffaloes make life difficult for Colorado State’s freshman quarterback.

Colorado should get off to a quick start, building a multiple-touchdown lead early, and keeping pace throughout the game to lock in this CFB pick of the week.

Over 61 Points (-110)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

I have the Buffaloes nearly touching this line by themselves, so I am putting faith in the Rams to carry their weight and put a few more points on the board.

As impressive as Colorado has been, they have certainly proven that they can be scored upon.

Colorado State vs Colorado Same Game Parlay

Colorado State vs Colorado SGP (+450)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.50 Units

  • Colorado -22.5 (-115)
  • Colorado Over 39.5 Points (-165)
  • Shedeur Sanders Over 349.5 Pass Yards (+105)
  • Jimmy Horn Jr. Over 79.5 Rec Yards (-120)

This parlay feeds directly into my game prediction and analysis for the Buffaloes to score early and often against the Rams.

I lowered the bar for Sanders and Colorado to score while still maintaining solid odds to secure a winning bet.

The addition of Horn Jr. makes a ton of sense as the wideout has secured 10 receptions for first downs this season, and will continue to be a clutch target all season long.
