San Diego State vs Creighton Prop Bets

Last Updated: Mar 25, 2023

The Creighton Bluejays are one of the most balanced teams remaining in the tournament ranking 22nd in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency ranking and 14th in his adjusted defensive efficiency rankings. The Aztecs sport the best defense remaining in the tournament ranking 4th in the KenPom rankings.

The game total is set at 133.5 so the oddsmakers are expecting a low-scoring game. This opens up value on some of the player props that are set lower than usual because of the game total.

Let’s dive in on some of my favorite props for this Elite 8 showdown.

San Diego State vs Creighton Game Props

1st Half Over 62.5 Points (-110) DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Creighton has gotten off to a hot start in their last two games and plays at a fast pace generally. The Aztecs, however, will look to slow down the pace of play and look to attack the paint on every possession.

This bet will depend on the Bluejays’ three-point effectiveness: They shoot the long ball at a high percentage at their best, but they are inconsistent at times.

If there is a cold stretch from either team in the first half, the total will go Under 62.5, but if we get a back-and-forth affair, this should hit comfortably for our CBB bet of the day.

San Diego State vs Creighton Team Props

Creighton Team Total Over 67.5 (-115) DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Creighton offense has been on a roll during the NCAA Tournament and is finally living up to the preseason hype that had them pegged in the Top 10 of the preseason AP poll.

The Bluejays are getting production from all of their starters, which makes them a dangerous offensive side. At the same time, since a majority of their production comes from their starting five, foul trouble could derail their offense.

The Bluejays have scored more than 70 points in all of their tournament games so far and eclipsed the 80-point mark in their last two. They haven’t yet faced a defense quite as stout as San Diego State, but I still think they will get to 70 points again in this contest.

San Diego State vs Creighton Player Props

Trey Alexander: Over 12.5 Points (-108) Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Aztecs were able to contain Brandon Miller in the Sweet 16 but the Alabama guards had success getting to the rim and finding open three-point shots. This is a favorable matchup for Alexander who shoots better than 40% from beyond the arc on the season. He also has the speed to get to the rim and should eclipse the 12.5-point prop total. He is averaging 13.7 points per game this season which is well above the prop line.

Darrion Trammell: Over 9.5 Points (-123) Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Trammell led the Aztecs to their win over Alabama scoring a team-high 21 points. He has emerged as a leader for this San Diego State team during this tournament and has taken some of the load off his teammate Matt Bradley. Trammell also scored 13 against Furman in the Round of 32. Back the Aztecs guard to score at least 10 points in this contest.
