San Diego State has now defeated two of the top offenses in the country in Furman and Alabama in back-to-back games. The Aztecs’ offensive rebounding is leading them to victories as they had 17 against the Crimson Tide. Creighton is one of the best three-pointing shooting teams in the nation and made 37.5% of their threes against Princeton.
The Aztecs are one of the best teams in the nation defending against the three and held Alabama to only 11.1% from beyond the arc in their Sweet 16 matchup. This is going to be a very tight matchup that will likely come down to the last possession of the game.
I give the slight edge to the Bluejays because their three starting guards all shoot over 80% from the free throw line which is essential to closing out games. Only Matt Bradley shoots above 80% from the free throw from the Aztecs’ starting lineup.

The Aztecs play at a much slower pace than the Bluejays, but if Creighton is able to knock down their three-point jumpers then this will be a high-scoring game.
Creighton is 22nd in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency rankings and will take on a top-five defense in the Aztecs. The over will definitely be a sweat but a close contest will usually lead to free throws down the stretch which will tip the scales to the over.
