The Arizona Wildcats didn’t find out their first-round opponent until Wednesday night, but that shouldn’t really matter because they are one of the best teams in the nation.

The Wildcats are the No. 1 seed in the South Region and will take on Horizon League champion Wright State, who defeated Bryant 93-82 in the play-in round on Wednesday in Dayton.

Arizona vs Wright State Prediction

Arizona is one of the most complete teams in the nation, shooting a 55.9% effective field goal percentage while hitting 35.4% from deep and 57.5% from inside the arc.

On the defensive end, the Wildcats are limiting teams to just 41.9% inside and do a good job avoiding sending teams to the line. Arizona also has a massive height advantage and continues to protect the paint.

Any mid-major team trying to beat Arizona will need to shoot lights out from downtown to even have a chance. Wright State made 9-of-21 three-pointers on Wednesday against Bryant’s zone defense, but the Raiders are shooting just 33% from three on the season and shouldn’t be able to replicate that success against Arizona’s length.

This game should be a blowout and Arizona will cover.

Arizona vs Wright State Score Pick

Arizona 92, Wright State 70

Arizona runs a fast-paced offense but still only turns the ball over 18% of the time. The Wildcats are also a ridiculously good passing team, with assists on 65.4% of their made field goals. That makes them impossible to stop.

If a bunch of high-major teams couldn’t stop Arizona, what makes you think Wright State can?

No team has the height, the IQ, or the shooting that Arizona has. And these stats are coming from playing elite competition in the Pac-12.

Arizona vs Wright State Best Bets

Arizona -21.5 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

In the Pac-12 Championship, when Arizona defeated UCLA, Arizona had to overcome a double-digit deficit to win. Arizona is capable of massive runs and no moment is ever too much for this group.

With their quick pace of play and dominance on the defensive end, this game should get out of hand in a hurry. Arizona should have a lot of fun swatting passes away and running out on breakaways for easy points.

Over 156.5 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

Arizona has scored 100+ points multiple times this season against mid-major opponents. Despite Wright State being a conference champion, the Raiders are still a mid-major program and there is a massive gulf in class here.

The Wildcats will be able score whenever they want, and Wright State is efficient enough to contribute in what should be another high-tempo game. The Over only makes sense in this spot.
