The 2024 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship has arrived. The Minnesota Lynx (13-3) will head to Brooklyn for a meeting with the New York Liberty (15-3) in a battle between two of the league’s heavyweights.
The Lynx went 4-1 in Commissioner’s Cup play with a differential of 67 points, including a victory of the Las Vegas Aces. Meanwhile, the Liberty — the reigning Commissioner’s Cup champions — went 5-0 in qualifying play, outscoring their opponents by a combined 78 points.
Some of the league’s best players will be on display for this in-season championship game. Let’s dive into the best bets you can make before the action gets underway this evening at 8 p.m. ET.

Lynx vs Liberty Odds
- Spread: Lynx +5 (-112) • Liberty -5 (-108)
- Moneyline: Lynx (+184) • Liberty (-230)
- Total: Over 162 (-110) • Under 162 (-110)
Despite picking up an early-season victory over the Liberty, the Lynx enter the 2024 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup as 5-point underdogs. New York has been on a dominant streak lately, winning 11 of its last 12 overall, but it’s worth noting that its largest loss of the season came against Minnesota.

The Over/Under is appropriately set in the low 160s. The Lynx and Liberty rank second and third, respectively, in points allowed per game, while New York leads the league in both scoring (88.1 PPG) and offensive rating.
Lynx vs Liberty Prediction
The Lynx may have taken round one in Minnesota, but I have to lean toward the Liberty in this championship game. What New York has accomplished over its last 12 games has been historic, and it looks like the clear-cut best team in the WNBA coming into this anticipated matchup.
In particular, it’s the Liberty offense that’s been rolling. New York has scored at least 78 points and as many as 104 in each of its last dozen contests, averaging 90.5 points per game during the span. Not even the Connecticut Sun, which own the league’s best defense, could slow the Liberty.
Minnesota has been almost equally dominant — particularly defensively — but this squad lacks experience in this sort of environment. New York went on the road for last year’s championship and upset the historically great Aces in Las Vegas. The Liberty won’t take hosting this game lightly.
The key for New York is getting Jonquel Jones going early. The 2023 Commissioner’s Cup MVP was limited to just four points and six rebounds in her lone matchup with the Lynx earlier this season, so she’ll need to stay out of foul trouble for the Liberty to have a chance.
Lynx vs Liberty Best Bet
Lynx vs Liberty: Over 162 Points (-110)
FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
New York scored a season-low 67 points in its early-season meeting with Minnesota in late May, but the two still put up 151 combined points. The Liberty enter tonight’s game having scored 90-plus points in six straight appearances, giving them some much-needed momentum against an elite defensive team.
As long as New York can perform closer to the mean, this Over should hit with relative ease. Expect the total to surpass this 162-point barrier and make this your WNBA bet of the day.
Lynx vs Liberty Prop Bet
Breanna Stewart: Over 19.5 Points (-113)
FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
Despite the season-low scoring effort, Stewie still notched 20 points on 8-for-18 shooting against the Lynx earlier this season. She’s averaging 19.7 points per game this season and has played some of her best basketball at home, putting her in position for a big outing when it matters most.
