Mavericks vs Jazz Prediction & Best Bets For Game 6 | Spread, Over/Under, & Moneyline Odds

Last Updated: Apr 28, 2022

After a blowout Game 5, the Dallas Mavericks have the opportunity to end the series on the road against the Utah Jazz on Thursday. For Utah, they will need the energy of their home crowd to keep the series alive and force a Game 7 in Dallas.

With some series already wrapped up, this has been one of the most competitive matchups of the NBA Playoffs thus far. With that being said, let’s take a closer look at this Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 matchup.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 Prediction

The Mavericks coasted to a Game 5 victory. The Jazz looked lost the entire night, and the loss was made worse by an injury to star guard Donovan Mitchell. While the MRI on his hamstring came back clean and he is hopeful to play, it’s tough to imagine he looks fully healthy in this game.

A hamstring injury can greatly impact how explosive a player is. If Mitchell is unable to use his physical tools to blow by defenders for easy buckets or pick up fouls, it’s going to be tough for the Jazz to win this game, despite being great at home all season long.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 Score Pick

Mavericks 106, Jazz 100

This Jazz offense is set up by what Mitchell is able to do with the ball. On defense, if you think Mitchell gave a poor effort before, imagine how he will look with a hurt hamstring.

In the end, I think Mitchell is sick of the Jazz, and I think Utah fans are sick of Mitchell. This may be the last time he puts on the Jazz uniform.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 Best Bets

First Quarter Total: UNDER 54.5 Points (-120)

WAGER: 2 Units

The first quarter Under continues to hit for us, and with the total rising for Game 6, there’s no reason to change up our strategy now. No first quarter in this series has had a total above 48 points. In fact, the average across the five games has been 45.4 points.

With Mitchell now hobbled, it makes this prop even more enticing.

Mavericks Cover -1.5 Spread (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

If you like the Mavericks to win this game, you may as well take the spread. Games don’t often come down to two points, since teams can foul to send the opposition to the free throw line for free buckets to extend their lead.

Even a one-point game inside of 30 seconds could easily turn into a four-point differential on the scoreboard when it’s all said and done.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 Parlay

Best Same-Game Parlay (+450)

  • Mavericks Cover -1.5 Spread

  • First Quarter UNDER 52.5 Points

WAGER: 1 Unit

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 6 SGP

The spread at BetMGM is currently 1.5, so we get a break there. For the first quarter total, we feel good about the Under, so we’ll actually move it down a couple of points for better odds. Then, we take a couple of points off of Dallas’ projected total, giving us a nice three-leg parlay.

PREVIOUSLY: Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Prediction

The Western Conference series between the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks is all tied up after four games, with the teams headed back to Dallas. While Luka Doncic made his return in Game 4, it didn’t prove to make the difference, and the Jazz defended their home court.

However, with two home games still possible in this series, the Mavericks have to feel good about everything even after missing Doncic for three games.

With seemingly neither team having momentum, let’s take a closer look at this interesting Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 matchup.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Jazz (+125), Mavericks (-145)
  • Spread: Jazz +3 (-110), Mavericks -3 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 213 (-110), Under 213 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Mavericks 108, Jazz 105

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Prediction

The Jazz avoided a scare in Game 4, with a last-second bucket from Rudy Gobert giving them the win. It was a hard-fought, low-scoring game where there seemed to be a lid on the basket all night. Even from the free throw line, the Mavericks and Jazz shot 78.3% and 61.9%, respectively.

All four games in this series have been decided by single digits, and the Mavericks have been held under 100 points in two of the games. It’s clear that every possession matters, and the energy from the home fans could prove to be the difference-maker.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Score Pick

Mavericks 109, Jazz 105

That’s exactly what I believe for Game 5. Yes, having Doncic back does help the Mavericks. However, with role players typically playing better in front of their home fans, I believe that to be the difference in this game.

Look for players like Maxi Kleber and Spencer Dinwiddie to step up and make crucial buckets and put the Mavericks up 3-2 in the series.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Best Bets

First Quarter Total: Under 51.5 Points (-115)

WAGER: 2 Units

The game totals for the series have been interesting to watch since we have two good defensive teams, but we also have elite scorers on both sides as well. However, the one thing that has remained consistent is the way these teams start games.

The average first quarter total comes in at 46.25 points in this series, and no first quarter has surpassed 48 combined points, making this our NBA bet of the day.

Second Quarter Spread: Jazz +1.5 (-130)

WAGER: 1 Unit

After slow starts, the Jazz typically wake up when it comes to the second quarter in this series. They have won three of the four second quarters so far. Their average scoring margin in the second quarter across these four games is +3.25, which includes them getting out-scored by 10 points in Game 3.

A big reason for these surges in the second quarter is Jordan Clarkson getting involved off the bench, then players like Donovan Mitchell finally finding their groove to close out the half.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 Parlay

Best Same-Game Parlay (+450)

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 5 SGP

We weren’t able to add any quarter lines or totals to the same game parlay at the time of writing, but I would be interested in adding the bets from above as well.

If we don’t include those, we can still get (+450) odds on this two-leg parlay. As long as the Mavericks can keep pace offensively, we should be able to cash in here.

PREVIOUSLY: Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Predictions

The Utah Jazz took control of home-court advantage after their Game 1 win in Dallas. However, the series has been all Mavericks since then, with Dallas holding a 2-1 series lead over the Jazz heading into Game 4.

We have not seen Luka Doncic, who remains out with a calf injury. He was rumored to return in Games 3 or 4, but with the Mavericks re-taking home-court advantage after a big win in Utah, could the Mavericks wait until they are back on their home floor to return their star player?

With questions surrounding both Doncic’s health and the mindset of the Jazz, Game 4 is shaping up to be an exciting and important game in this Western Conference series. Let’s take a look at how this Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 is expected to play out.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Friday, April 22, at 2 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Mavericks (+175), Jazz (-210)
  • Spread: Mavericks +5 (-110), Jazz -5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 211.5 (-110), Under 211.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Jazz 108.25, Mavericks 103.25

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Prediction

The Jazz have been so good in Utah this season. They had a 29-12 record at home in the regular season and a +9.5-point average margin on their home floor, which is the second-best in the NBA.

However, in Game 3, they again had no answer for Jalen Brunson, who finished the game with 31 points despite not making a shot from beyond the arc. Instead, it was some of the Mavericks’ bigs that helped to stretch the floor.

Utah cannot lose both of its home games, and I don’t expect them to. The Mavericks’ Game 3 victory was their first win in Utah since April 2016. Will lightning strike twice? I don’t think so.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Score Pick

Jazz 112, Mavericks 106

While I don’t think as many points will be scored this time around, we should see both teams come in above their projected totals.

Donovan Mitchell was cold from downtown last game, but he was effective in getting to the free throw line and converting those attempts. Look for him, and other Utah players, to emphasize going inside more.

Dallas doesn’t have a rim protector that strikes any kind of fear, so Utah should attack this weakness with success.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Best Bets

Jazz OVER 108.5 Points (-110)

WAGER: 2 Units

This line is exactly where it was in Game 3. Despite the loss, Utah still scored 118 points, and they should go over this total once again.

The Jazz average 6.8 more points per game at home. The Mavericks also allow 5.6 more points per game on the road. Look for this intense atmosphere to lead to plenty of points from Utah in a winning effort, as they score over 108.5 points at home against Dallas once again.

OVER 211.5 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 2 Units

I like the Mavericks team total Over 103.5 points as well, so we may as well take the Over for the full game. Yes, Utah is a good defensive team, as are the Mavericks. However, Utah gives up 107.4 points at home while Dallas gives up 107.6 points on the road.

We have also seen the past two matchups combine for 214 and 244 points. If Doncic is able to go, the game total will likely rise even higher in the sportsbooks. Hop on this line now to get the best value.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 Parlay

Best Same-Game Parlay (+525)

  • Jazz -4.5
  • Mavericks Team Points: Over 104.5

WAGER: 1 Unit

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 4 SGP

Adding the Over on the game total or for the Jazz team total doesn’t actually improve the odds, so we will still with the two-leg parlay. Obviously, the spread implies Utah scores at least 110 points, which is why the previously mentioned bets don’t move the needle for us.

PREVIOUSLY: Mavericks-Jazz Game 3 Prediction

The Western Conference series between the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks is switching venues, heading to Salt Lake City with the series tied 1-1.

The biggest headline of this series continues to be the health of Luka Doncic, who has yet to take the floor. He is projected to return in Utah, though we don’t know if it will be for Game 3 or 4.

While there is still some mystery, we have seen that Dallas is capable of winning without their star player. Will they keep their momentum rolling and be able to re-capture home-court advantage?

Let’s take a look at how this Mavericks vs Jazz Game 3 is expected to play out.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 3 Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook (unless noted) and current as of Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Mavericks (+220), Jazz (-270)
  • Spread: Mavericks +6 (-110), Jazz -6 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 210.5 (-110), Under 210.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Jazz 108.25, Mavericks 102.25

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 3 Prediction

As stated above, the Mavericks were without Doncic once again in Game 2. As we predicted, Donovan Mitchell came out aggressive and the Jazz had control of the game early, leading by seven points at halftime.

However, in typical postseason Utah fashion, they crumbled. Jalen Brunson took over the game, scoring 41 points himself. He and Maxi Kleber combined to score 66 of Dallas’ 110 total points. While a repeat performance isn’t likely, they could get some extra help.

Doncic appears to truly be a game-time decision. His return would be massive for a Mavericks team that likely doesn’t have enough firepower to win in Utah without him.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 3 Score Pick

Jazz 112, Mavericks 103

In the end, home-court advantage will be too much to overcome. The Jazz are 29-12 on their home floor this season, and they average 6.8 more points per game at home this season than on the road. Utah also has an average margin of +9.9 in home games this season, which is the second-best mark in the NBA.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 3 Best Bets

Jazz Team Total: OVER 108.5 Points (-110)

WAGER: 2 Units

As stated above, the Jazz average 6.8 more points per game at home. I didn’t mention that the Mavericks also allow 5.4 more points per game on the road. The Jazz have been itching to get back on their home floor, and their offensive performance in Game 3 should show this.

In the two Mavericks vs Jazz matchups during the regular season, Utah put up point totals of 120 and 114. They average 116.8 points per game at home this season.

1st Half Spread: Jazz -3 (-115)

WAGER: 2 Units

While the Jazz ended up losing in Game 2, they led by seven points at the half. They led by two points at the half in Game 1 despite Mitchell hitting only one shot from the field.

At home this season, Utah has an average first-half margin of +5.8, which is 3.5 points better than their margin in away games. Dallas has an even first-half margin on the road this season, which is four points worse than their home margin.

In other words, the Jazz play much better at home while the Mavericks play much worse on the road.

The Jazz are also in front of their home fans, looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. Look for them to jump out to an early lead and keep it.

The Jazz should come out hot on their home floor, scoring at a higher rate like they have done all season long. Look for them to lead at the half once again, but they will pull out the win in Game 3.

The 2022 NBA Playoffs began with a Game 1 matchup between the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks that was more competitive than many thought it would be. After the news that Mavs star Luka Doncic would not play, not many gave Dallas a chance to successfully defend their home court.

In the end, the doubters were correct. However, a six-point difference proved this Dallas squad has more fight in them than most gave them credit for.

With Game 2 serving as our second game on Monday, it should be a great night of NBA basketball to start the week.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 2 Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Sunday, April 17, at 5 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Jazz (-250), Mavericks (+200)
  • Spread: Jazz -5.5 (-110), Mavericks +5.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 205.5 (-110), Under 205.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Jazz 105.5, Mavericks 100

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 2 Prediction

In Game 1, the Mavericks started and ended the game strong, while the Jazz controlled the second and third quarters. A big reason for the early struggles for Utah was the slow start from Donovan Mitchell. He went into the half converting just one of his nine shot attempts. Even he said he was too passive early.

Ending the game with 32 total points, clearly, he came alive in the second half. Mitchell is known for his big performances in the postseason, so look for him to carry Game 1’s second-half momentum into Game 2.

As for Dallas, they look to be without Doncic once again. We said in Game 1 that Dallas didn’t have enough offense to beat Utah without Doncic. With the Jazz scoring only 99 points while emerging victorious, clearly this was the case.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 2 Score Pick

Jazz 108, Mavericks 99

Look for a similar performance from Dallas, while Utah will find the bottom of the net a bit more — especially early — thanks to Mitchell.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 2 Best Bets

OVER 205.5 Points (-110)

WAGER: 2 Units

This point total is obnoxiously low. Yes, neither team eclipsed the century mark in Game 1. However, we discussed how much Mitchell struggled in the first half, despite finishing with more than 30 points. He should continue to put up plenty of points himself while creating easy buckets for his teammates.

If Dallas can at least get close to 100 points, I think we hit the Over.

1st Quarter Moneyline: Utah Jazz (-155)

WAGER: 2 Units

Due to Mitchell coming out passive in Game 1, it was the Mavericks who led going into the second quarter. However, this is not characteristic of the Jazz.

Utah regularly gets off to strong starts, ranking ninth in first-quarter points (28.7) and seventh in first-quarter scoring margin (+1.8). Look for Mitchell to keep his momentum rolling early.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 2 Parlay

Jazz vs Mavericks Game 2 SGP

Look for Mitchell to be locked in from the opening jump. His strong play should help the Jazz to get out to a fast start, leading at the end of the first quarter and first half. In fact, they may be in control the entire game.

As stated above, I believe this game total hits the Over as long as Dallas can get close to 100 points. With the Jazz covering the spread, the Over should also hit if the Mavericks generate enough offense.

The 2022 NBA Playoffs are finally here, and the first round is looking like an exciting one. Each series has something that makes the matchup interesting. On the Western Conference side of the bracket, the matchup between the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks is no exception.

The No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup is always intriguing, since it features the teams that are closest in regular-season record. However, the health of Mavericks star Luka Doncic is what the main focus is on.

Due to this, series betting odds are clouded, since we do not know the status or availability for Doncic throughout this series. However, Game 1 is a bit clearer. Let’s take a look at how this Jazz vs Mavericks Game 1 is expected to play out.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Friday, April 15, at 11 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Jazz (-210), Mavericks (+175)
  • Spread: Jazz -5 (-110), Mavericks +5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 209.5 (-110), Under 209.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Jazz 107.25, Mavericks 102.25

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 Prediction

Doncic is expected to miss Game 1 in Dallas, so the rest of the Mavs’ supporting cast must step up in a massive way to hang around with the Jazz.

The player who averages the second-most points on the team is Jalen Brunson, but the Mavericks will only have three active players who averaged double-digits in scoring during the regular season.

To call them a longshot to win this game is an understatement, especially with one of the best defensive players in the league on the other side.

It has been a theme for the Jazz to get to the postseason and crumble before our eyes. However, some of this can be chalked up to injuries. This year, they look healthy and have a momentum-building matchup with Dallas.

Donovan Mitchell typically finds another gear in the playoffs, averaging 32 points or more in each of the past two postseasons. That success and experience will overshadow anything Dallas has on its side.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 Score Pick

Jazz 111, Mavericks 99

While I believe the Mavericks will be able to make things competitive without Doncic in later games, I don’t think that will be the case with this first one. The Jazz will win in a dominating fashion.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 Best Bets

Jazz Cover -5 Spread (-110)

WAGER: 2 Units

As stated above, the Mavericks will only have three active players that average double-digit points: Jalen Brunson (16.3), Spencer Dinwiddie (15.8) and Dorian Finney-Smith (11.0).

At least one of those players will be asked to expend a great deal of energy on defense guarding Donovan Mitchell. This could lead to foul trouble as well.

Regardless, the Mavericks don’t have enough offense without Doncic to beat the Jazz. Utah should win with relative ease, making this my NBA bet of the day.

1st Quarter Moneyline: Utah Jazz (-150)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Utah should be in firm control from start to finish. This season, they have been strong to start games, ranking ninth in first-quarter points (28.8) and seventh in first-quarter scoring margin (+1.9).

Dallas ranks tied for 16th and ninth in those categories, respectively, and this should only be made worse by the absence of Doncic.

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 Parlay

Best Same-Game Parlay (+400) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

  • Donovan Mitchell & Jalen Brunson Each Over 24.5 Points

Mavericks vs Jazz Game 1 SGP

This is an odds boost available at Caesars right now. I suggest quickly taking advantage of it.

Mitchell has been better away from Utah this season, averaging 26.7 points (+1.6) in road games. He has also scored at least 25 points in 14 of his past 17 playoff games.

As for Brunson, he will need to step up in a big way without Doncic. With Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr. (out) and Kristaps Porzinigis (traded) off the floor for Dallas this season, Brunson had a massive 30.7% usage rate, averaging 24.7 points per 36 minutes.

The 2022 NBA Playoffs are here, and the Western Conference looks like quite the gauntlet. In the 4-5 matchup in the Western Conference Playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks will have the home-court advantage over the Utah Jazz.

These teams faced off four times this season, splitting the regular season series. The seeding, along with the split regular season series, suggests this will be a close, competitive playoff series. However, given the injury status of Luka Doncic, the fourth-seeded Mavs don’t look to be the favorite.

Let’s take a closer look at the Mavericks vs Jazz first-round series in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, giving our predictions and best bets.

Mavericks vs Jazz Odds

All NBA gameday odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Wednesday, April 13, at 12 p.m. EST.

  • Series Winner: Jazz (-320), Mavericks (+250)

Mavericks vs Jazz Series Prediction

This series is currently the big question mark in the NBA Playoffs. So much so that all we have for betting odds right now is the series winner.

The reason for this is the status of Luka Doncic. An MRI revealed Doncic has a calf strain, and the Mavericks have given no timetable for his return.

With a calf strain, it’s possible he plays Game 1. It’s also possible he misses the postseason altogether. If Dallas is playing without Doncic, they may not win a single game against the Jazz.

For the sake of predictions right now, let’s pretend Doncic misses no more than one game and he is limited upon his return. It’s tough to have much faith in a Dallas team that needed 30+ from Doncic to win two of the four matchups with Utah this season.

The Jazz are a bad matchup for the Mavs, and Donovan Mitchell always finds another gear in the playoffs. I don’t believe the Mavericks will have enough offense to make this a competitive series if Doncic doesn’t look close to 100 percent healthy.

Mavericks vs Jazz Series Pick

Jazz in 5 Games

We don’t know when or if we see Doncic back on the floor. The Jazz, however, are healthy enough. Look for Rudy Gobert to control the paint while the Utah backcourt outplays Dallas’ backcourt.

I believe Doncic will do enough to steal one game, but when it comes to being good enough for four quarters to pull out wins, I don’t think he will be able to do that consistently. And he doesn’t have the help around him to pick up the slack.

Mavericks vs Jazz Best Bets

Jazz to Win the Series (-320) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 3 Units

This is the only series bet we currently have available to us. So, for the reasons above, we believe the Jazz will win the series with ease.

Once there is more clarity on the Doncic injury status, sportsbooks will offer us more betting odds and we will be able to include more bets below.
