The New York Jets selected cornerback Sauce Gardner from Cincinnati with the No. 4 pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Many thought Gardner would be the first cornerback off the board, but the Houston Texans selected LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr. with the selection before.

Without even seeing the field, Gardner may already be the No. 1 cornerback on the Jets roster. New York’s secondary was abysmal last season and Gardner is the perfect lockdown corner to play in Robert Saleh’s system.

Gardner, who remarkably never allowed a touchdown while in coverage in three collegiate seasons, will beef up a position group that features offseason acquisition D.J. Reed and second-year pro Bryce Hall.
Sauce Gardner Fantasy Football IDP Tips
Given the landing spot, Gardner could certainly play a prominent role on the Jets’ defense in 2022. That, not to mention his pedigree and ball-hawking nature, make him a worthy candidate for IDP selection at cornerback.
