FanDuel Sportsbook Review

FanDuel Sportsbook is one of my favorite betting sites to bet on for its ease through the app, as well as on desktop. New Jersey grants me numerous options to bet and I will list the pros and some of the cons of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Back in July 2018, Paddy Power Betfair bought FanDuel and took on the task of forming a sportsbook. This would be called the “FanDuel Group”. There is a partnership with Betfair Casino (Betfair Interactive US LLC), which allows for even more options including slot games, table games, and much more. Betfair Casino is now under the umbrella of Stardust Casino. Betfair has since left the US market, but the online casino remains under the FanDuel Casino branding.

FanDuel Sportsbook is fully operational in the following states — Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming. This includes retail locations in every state but Tennessee and Wyoming.

FanDuel Sportsbook features live betting and many traditional wagering options, such as Moneylines, Totals, Point Spreads, Player Props, Parlays, and more.

FanDuel is also the OG of Same-Game Parlays where you can parlay multiple bets in the same game. FanDuel has taken that a step further by introducing Same-Game Parlay+ where you can parlay multiple Same-Game Parlays. They also feature teasers and round robins on their easy-to-follow tabs on the upper right side of the site.

Is FanDuel Sportsbook Legit?

Yes, FanDuel Sportsbook is fully legitimate. In order to offer real money sports betting in each state they are operational in, they must pass a rigorous testing procedure that checks all betting functions, deposits, withdrawals, game fairness and more. Each state has their own regulatory body that oversees all betting same as they would any retail casino in the state.

Can You Win Real Money Playing at FanDuel Sportsbook?

Yes, you can win real money at FanDuel Sportsbook. The betting site offers regulated real money sports betting options in several states, operating with local gaming licenses. For example, in the state of New Jersey, FanDuel Sportsbook is licensed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

FanDuel Sportsbook Signup Bonuses

At FanDuel Sportsbook, they’re currently offering a fantastic Bet $5, Get $300 in Bonus Bets offer. All you need to do is place a wager of $5+ and win to get your bonus funds.

You can easily sign up at FanDuel to get the welcome bonus without a promo code. Just click on our “” or “Claim Now” button to activate, then place your first wager.

Continue reading to find out how easy and profitable this welcome bonus can be.

FanDuel Sportsbook Bet & Get

Bet and get offers are promotions where you bet a certain amount of money and receive a bonus for doing so.

FanDuel is currently offering a Bet $5, Get $300 in Bonus Bets promotion.

Just to sign-up and place your first bet of least $5 and win your first Moneyline wager.

FanDuel Sportsbook No Sweat First Bet

The No Sweat First Bet is exactly what it sounds like.

You sign up for the FanDuel sportsbook, make your deposit and place your first bet. If it loses you’ll receive money — usually paid in bonus bets or site credit — equal to your stake, up to a maximum amount.

FanDuel has previously run a $1,000 no-sweat bet and a $2,500 no-sweat bet for new sign-ups but is currently not offering a no-sweat bet in any state.

FanDuel No-Deposit Bonus

Although more popular in the online casino side of things, sometimes online sportsbooks may offer a no-deposit bonus. They are exactly what they sound like, free money in your account just for signing up. At this time, FanDuel does not offer a no-deposit bonus, but may at some point in the future.

FanDuel Deposit Bonus

Some online sportsbooks will offer a deposit match on your first deposit after registration. For example, if an online sportsbook offers a 100% deposit match up to $1,000, you would get site credit or bonus bets equal to your first deposit up to $1,000. At this time FanDuel does not offer a new player deposit bonus, but does occasionally offer deposit matches for existing customers.

FanDuel Sportsbook Pre-Launch Offer

FanDuel, like most sportsbooks, will give site credit to users who sign up in the weeks leading up to a new state’s launch. For instance, bettors who signed up in North Carolina ahead of the upcoming launch received $100 in site credit.

FanDuel Sportsbook Promotions

FanDuel Sportsbook headlines quite a few betting promotions in its sportsbook and casino arsenal. The following are some of their latest promotions.

Some will change but generally similar promotions will exist throughout the calendar year.

FanDuel Parlays

Most parlay insurance hinges on hitting all but one leg. Typically on FanDuel most offers are based on 3+ or 5+ leg parlays. Do watch to see if you have to opt-in first. You can find timely promotions for events like Euros, UFC Fight Nights, and others. Here are some of the mainstays:

  • One-Game Parlay: You can now place a single-game parlay at FanDuel Sportsbook.
  • Multi-Sport Parlay Insurance: If you place a 5+ leg parlay in any sport and hit all but one, you get up to $25 back.
  • MLB Parlay Insurance: The same 5+ leg rule applies. If you hit all but one leg, one gets $25 max in-site credit.

Does FanDuel Sportsbook Have the Best Odds?

Yes, FanDuel Online Sportsbook initially partnered with IGT for lines and pricing, but has since changed course and has started making their own lines for all sports betting on the site. When comparing lines and odds vs the competition, FanDuel typically does have the most player-friendly lines and odds. Let’s take a closer look.

FanDuel Sportsbook Pricing

When taking a look at FanDuel’s standard betting lines and odds, you typically see the standard 20 cent lines (-110 on both sides of spreads and totals) and some of the smallest margins on moneyline bets. You will occasionally see -105/-115 or -110/-108 on spreads and totals, but if FanDuel does not have the best line, it is usually pretty darn close.

When it comes to moneyline bets, FanDuel will usually have the smallest margins, meaning that where another site might have -130/+105 (a margin of 35), FanDuel will typically beat it with a -125/+105 (a margin of 30). This may seem like a small factor when thinking about your betting options, but over time, this could be costing you thousands in profits, especially if you are a big or frequent bettor.

The stellar pricing doesn’t stop once the game starts. In-game odds are typically not as player friendly as pregame betting, but FanDuel does minimize the damage by sticking to 25-30 cent lines where other sportsbooks can go as high as 60 cent lines for ingame bets.

As far as prop betting prices, that can be a mixed bag, as it depends on what side of the bets you are choosing. Be sure to check odds on several sites if the line seems off on FanDuel as this may be their only weakness when it comes to pricing props.

All of this will vary by sport, but FanDuel is usually a good starting point when pricing out your bets.

In What States is FanDuel Sportsbook Available?

FanDuel Sportsbook seems to be first, or near first to market in any state that goes live with online sports betting. In most states you must partner with a legal retail casino in order to offer online betting, but others like Tennessee where there is online only betting, FanDuel acquired an online license directly. FanDuel even went as far as to purchase a racetrack in Illinois in order to avoid being left out of the Illinois sports betting market.

Let’s take a look at each state FanDuel is live, how they got in the market and any special betting restrictions in that state.

FanDuel Arizona

  • License Partner: Phoenix Suns
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Phoenix Suns Footprint Center
  • Online Launch: September 2021

In Arizona, online sportsbooks can partner with either a professional sports franchise or a federally recognized tribe. FanDuel inked a partnership with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns and offers a retail sportsbook within the stadium. The retail sportsbook offers an outdoor terrace with over 40 flatscreen TVs to catch all your favorite games.

In Arizona, you can bet on all the classic bets such as moneyline, totals, spreads and more, but there is limitations on some NCAA betting options. In AZ, you can not wager on college individual player props but you can bet on season long awards like the Heisman Award Winner.

FanDuel Colorado

  • License Partner: Golden Gates Black Hawk Casino
  • Retail Sportsbooks: None
  • Online Launch: May 2020

FanDuel was among the first wave to go live in Colorado via a partnership with Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk Colorado. Despite launching in the height of the global pandemic, FanDuel did fair very well with a full slate of alternative sports such as table tennis and Aussie Rules. FanDuel does not have a retail presence in the state at the time of this writing but is one of the top online sportsbooks in the Centennial State. There is little to no betting restrictions other than betting on awards shows is prohibited.

FanDuel Connecticut

  • License Partner: Mohegan Sun Casino
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Mohegan Sun (coming soon)
  • Online Launch: October 2021

FanDuel makes up 1/3 of the entire online sportsbook market in Connecticut, as the smallest state with online sports betting really limited their license availability to less than a handful. FanDuel was quick to partner with the iconic Mohegan Sun Casino in order to offer both online and retail sports betting in the state. While the retail sportsbook is still under construction, the online sportsbook gives you all the betting options that you have come to expect from the nations leading sports betting site.

FanDuel Illinois

  • License Partner: FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing
  • Retail Sportsbooks: FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing/ Par-A-Dice Casino
  • Online Launch: October 2021

In order to enter the Illinois sports betting market, FanDuel ended up purchasing the Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL and renaming the property the FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing. FanDuel also has a retail location at Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino in East Peoria.

Initially, in-person registration was required for online sports betting, which meant you would need to visit the retail location in order to register for FanDuel. During the covid-19 pandemic, those restrictions were temporarily halted, and eventually because permanent in March 2022.

Illinois bettors can enjoy the full slate of betting options outside of betting on in-state college sports. Illinois also requires official league data which can cause a bit of a headache for operators but does not effect anything major on the players side of things.

FanDuel Indiana

  • License Partner: Boyd Gaming
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Blue Chip Casino/ Belterra Casino Resort
  • Online Launch: October 2019

FanDuel has partnered with Boyd Gaming in Indiana in order to launch its online and retail services in the state. Boyd Gaming owns and operates both the Blue Chip Casino and Belterra Casino resort, and both feature a FanDuel Sportsbook complete with video walls, self service kiosks and several betting windows.

Indiana has some of the least restrictive betting options in the US betting market, with no instate college betting limitations and betting on awards shows such as the Oscars and Emmys is allowed. Remote registration is also available making it simple to sign up for a new account from the comfort of your couch.

FanDuel Iowa

  • License Partner: Diamond Jo Gaming
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Diamond Jo, Diamond Jo Worth
  • Online Launch: September 2020

In what was surprising news, FanDuel was not one of the first to go live in the great state of Iowa, but did eventually go online about six months after the first wave of sportsbooks. In order to offer both retail and online sports betting services in the state, FanDuel partnered with Diamond Jo Casinos and has retail location in both locations.

While Iowa initially mandated that in-person registration was a must, that rule changed in January 2021, and now remote registration is available. The only betting restrictions to keep in mind is that there is no award show betting and betting on in-state college props are prohibited. Other than those two restrictions, Iowa bettors can enjoy all that FanDuel has to offer.

FanDuel Kansas

  • License Partner: Boyd Gaming
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Kansas Star (coming soon)
  • Online Launch: September 2022

FanDuel was one of the first operators to set up shop in Kansas once online sports betting went live within the state. They have a retail sportsbook on its way at the Kansas Star, which should be open in the foreseeable future. The state opened its doors for the betting markets at the perfect time: right at the start of the 2022 NFL season.

FanDuel Louisiana

  • License Partner: Boyd Gaming
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Amelie Belle/Delta Downs/Evangeline Downs/Treasure Chest Casino (all coming soon)
  • Online Launch: January 2022

After many delays, Louisiana launched their sports betting market in early 2022 and FanDuel was one of the first to go live in the state. FanDuel has partnered with Boyd Gaming in the Bayou State and will eventually have four retail sportsbooks in the state.

Louisiana sports betting does not have many restrictions outside of no awards show betting. Remote registration is available throughout the state and you do not need to be a resident, just have both feet firmly planted in the states borders in order to bet.

FanDuel Maryland

  • License Partner: Live! Casino
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland
  • Online Launch: November 2022

Sports betting is expected to go live in Maryland in November 2022. FanDuel will be one of the first operators to enter this new market. Users residing in the state can also take advantage of FanDuel’s retail location at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland.

FanDuel Michigan

  • License Partner: Motor City Casino
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Motor City Casino
  • Online Launch: January 2021

Partnering with Motor City Casino in Detroit, FanDuel is a force to be reckoned with in the Wolverine State. Featuring one of the largest retail casino sportsbooks in FanDuels repertoire, the FanDuel Sportsbook at Motor City has over 70 TVs, nearly 60 self serve kiosks and plenty of seating to sweat all your bets.

Registering for an account in Michigan is a breeze as remote registration is available throughout the state. Michigan does not allow betting on awards shows but other than that, there are no other restrictions on betting.

FanDuel New Jersey

  • License Partner: Meadowlands
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Meadowlands/ Ballys Atlantic City
  • Online Launch: September 2018

New Jersey, the OG of online sports betting in the US market, was FanDuel’s first market launch. Dating back to what seems like forever ago, FanDuel made its online debut way back in September 2018, and has been jockeying for the top spot vs rival DraftKings ever since. FanDuel has two retail sportsbooks in the state, one at Meadowlands and one in Atlantic City at Bally’s Casino.

While betting on awards shows is fully legal in the Garden State, betting on in-state colleges or college events occurring within the state is a huge no-no. Remote registration is allowed and encouraged but you can make deposits and withdrawals at either retail sportsbook for your online account.

FanDuel New York

  • License Partner: N/A
  • Retail Sportsbooks: Tioga Downs
  • Online Launch: January 2022

New York is one of few states that does not require online sportsbooks to be tied to a retail casino. FanDuel launched on day 1 in New York and have opened a retail sportsbook at Tioga Downs Casino Resort. The retail sportsbook is on the small side, with seating for around 50 customers, a wall of TVs and a small bar.

FanDuel Online Sportsbook in New York does not face any restrictions other than no award show betting. Remote registration can be accessed from anywhere in the state and be sure to click through our link to take advantage of the best available offer.

FanDuel Pennsylvania

  • License Partner: Valley Forge Casino
  • Retail Sportsbooks: FanDuel Casino at Valley Forge
  • Online Launch: July 2019

Valley Forge, the little casino that could, struck gold in 2019 when the great gambling expansion bill was passed. Not only did they partner with FanDuel, the top online sports betting site in the US, but they were able to expand their retail casino offerings as well. Adding a slew of new slots and being able to open their doors to the general public were all included in the new law. FanDuel also partnered up with Live! Philadelphia and Live! Pittsburgh for retail locations inside their casinos.

FanDuel PA launched in July 2019 in the first wave of online sportsbooks to go live, and quickly took the top spot. Pennsylvania sports betting restrictions include no college player prop betting and no award betting, but FanDuel’s long list of other betting options are readily available.

FanDuel Tennessee

  • License Partner: None
  • Retail Sportsbooks: None
  • Online Launch: November 2020

Tennessee was a surprising addition to the online sportsbook market in the US, as they have no other forms of gambling in the state. FanDuel hit the ground running in the Volunteer State and is one of the top choices for bettors in TN. Tennessee was the first (and only) state to be mobile only, which helps operators like FanDuel thrive.

There are no major restrictions on betting aside from no inplay betting on college sports. This means that all bets on college games must be made pre-game, so be sure to get those bets in early.

FanDuel Virginia

  • License Partner: Washington Commanders
  • Retail Sportsbooks: None
  • Online Launch: January 2021

Virginia passed a law in 2020 allowing gambling within its borders and hit the ground running by not only starting to build a retail casino industry, but online betting as well. Similar to NJ, Virginia does not allow betting on instate college teams.

FanDuel has partnered with the Washington Football Team, now known as the Washington Commanders. There are no FanDuel retail sportsbooks in the state at this time, but we expect FanDuel to look to add a retail book at some point.

FanDuel West Virginia

  • License Partner: The Greenbrier
  • Retail Sportsbooks: FanDuel Sportsbook at The Greenbrier
  • Online Launch: August 2019

FanDuel beat out rival DraftKings by two days on being the first to launch in West Virginia and has been the go-to sportsbook for most bettors in the state. FanDuel’s retail partner in the state is The Greenbrier Resort that boasts 11,000 acres of golf, tennis, spa and luxury accommodations. The casino is private, and only available to guests staying at the resort and has a strict dress code to enter.

In West Virginia, there are not really any restrictions on betting other than no betting on college props. The FanDuel Online sportsbook can be accessed from anywhere within the state and remote registration is available.

FanDuel Sportsbook Mobile App Experience

FanDuel app

I enjoy the simplicity of the FanDuel Sportsbook app. Once I registered a new account in the browser, downloading is easy as you just need to go to the App Store, search, and download. That’s it. One can do the same thing on Android devices as well. But keep in mind, the FanDuel DFS app and FanDuel Sportsbook app are separate entities when searching.

Once logged in, the general betting functions are pretty much the same as you would find on the desktop. The app features the familiar buttons on the bottom that tab out in greater detail like the bet slip, account, all sports, the home button, and yes, the casino.

One of the important things to do daily is to check promotions because there is always an abundance of them. Odds boost and promotions are prominently displayed and easy to follow and opt into.

When you want to place a bet, the process is pretty straightforward. FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the best when it comes to updated odds. It is part of why they are currently the top sportsbook in New Jersey.

The nice thing is when you click on an event to bet there are even more options — some traditional and some non-traditional. Look for the SGP (Same Game Parlay) and click on more wagers. There are many spreads, props, and so much more. They are also easily laid out to avoid confusion.

FanDuel Sportsbook features a fairly easy-to-follow interface when it comes to the app. The desktop version is even more seamless. When I am typically placing a wager, I do not have time for all sorts of pop-ups, extra frills, ads with sound, and so on.

FanDuel Sportsbook gives me the choice to get in and get out. It also allows me to look around to take advantage of line changes, prop differences, and more.

Should You Bet at FanDuel Sportsbook?

FanDuel Sportsbook strives to do two main things. One, they attempt to keep things as simple as possible. Second, FanDuel also tries to offer a myriad of options. The site may not be as fancy as some of the others out there, however, it is that relative simplicity that helps.

Customer service, like with any website or app, can be a little hit or miss. However, FanDuel Sportsbook is a bit better than most. It is a small complaint, honestly.

With the company backed by Paddy Power Betfair and FanDuel, they can be trusted. Their retail location in New Jersey is one of the better ones as far as efficiency and access to live events where one can enjoy the atmosphere.

The layout is fairly simple on the site — from easy and quick bets to single-game parlay options and much more. For myself, I look forward to NHL and NFL futures and can find them rather easily.

Some of these futures will lock a bit early, but for value and FanDuel Sportsbook does have very competitive odds/numbers.

The best thing to do when logged into FanDuel Sportsbook is sometimes just looking around and exploring. There are ways to take advantage of better numbers via FanDuel prop bets that one may not expect.

I heartily recommend the latest Bet & Get welcome bonus. Again, that is one-time, but you’re able to get $300 in bet credits plus just for placing a $5 wager.

Again, take a shot, look around, and explore your options. Few are better than FanDuel Sportsbook and they are very much worth joining.

How To Join FanDuel Sportsbook
