Types of Betway Prop Bets

Betway is a great option for sports betting and offers more than 2,000 events to wager on per week. That means it has a vast array of betting markets, especially props.

Here’s a look at some of the prop bets you can place at Betway.

Player Props

Betway has hundreds of player props for sporting events each day, including individual sports like golf, tennis, auto racing and more. But Betway is an elite option for prop bets among the five major North American team sports, football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer, where it offers more than 100 player props for each game.

The Betway Online Sportsbook gives users boosted player props for marquee games and promotes props of local interest curated to the state/region where you are playing.

For instance, if you’re playing on the Betway Colorado app, the sportsbook might boost Russell Wilson to throw 2.5 touchdowns or more. If you’re playing in New Jersey, you might get boosted odds on Zach Wilson or Daniel Jones to throw for over his passing-yards prop on one Sunday.

Or you can vote on player-prop futures such as which player will win the MVP or will finish with the most of a statistical category like rushing/passing/receiving yards or others depending on which sport you wish to bet.

Game Props

Game props are wagers that aren’t tied to the final outcome like first-half wagers or first-quarter bets. Betway has a slew of those too for all sports, including races to a certain number of runs/points/goals. Betway offers prop-oriented parlays, like wagering on a team to win and for the game to go over or under the over/under point total.

For instance, if you’re in Pennsylvania, you can wager on the Pittsburgh Penguins to win the race to 3 goals in their game against the Philadelphia Flyers. If Pittsburgh reaches three first, the bet wins even if the Flyers rally to win the game.

If you’re in Indiana, you can bet on the Indianapolis Colts to cover 3.5 points in the first half in their game against the Houston Texans. If Indy is up by four or more at the half, your bet wins no matter how the game ultimately plays out.

Novelty Props

Novelty props typically center around the Super Bowl, since the big game is prime season for betting on unique and quirky wagers like the color of Gatorade the winning coach will be doused with and the correct outcome of the coin toss.

Super Bowl bettors could wager on the national anthem to finish over or under 2 minutes, 22 seconds. If the song runs long, over wins. If it is a quick rendition the under is the right bet.

Team Props

Betway has a vast assortment of team prop wagers too. Bettors can wager on futures like teams to make the playoffs, win its division, conference or league championship or finish over/under a pre-determined number of wins/points before the season.

For instance, if you want to bet on the Atlanta Falcons to win the NFC South, you can place a preseason wager on them at some odds. If you want to wager on them to finish with over or under 8.5 wins, you can get odds on that too. If you want to bet on the Falcons to win the Super Bowl, they’ll have even longer odds on that.

Draft Props

The NBA and NFL drafts are fledgling events for sports bettors, and Betway offers no shortage of prop markets for wagerers trying to cash in. For instance, bettors can wager on which player will be the No. 1 pick in his sport year-round or which team will finish with the top pick before each regular season starts.

Does Betway Have Player Props?

Does it ever. The sportsbook has a huge assortment of player props ranging from game-by-game wagers like a player to surpass his passing-yard, points or total-bases prop total to futures like a player to lead the league in a statistical category or win the MVP of his/her league.

Football bettors can wager on a player like Matthew Stafford to surpass 288.5 yards against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 or finish as the top passer in the NFL during his season. Or they can wager on Derrick Henry to go over 100 yards rushing against the Jacksonville Jaguars or have him finish the season with the most yards of any NFL running back.

Baseball bettors can wager on Mike Trout to go over 2.5 total bases or win the AL MVP. Or they can bet on Mookie Betts to win the NL MVP or surpass his total-bases or anytime home run prop in his upcoming game.

Where Are Player Props on Betway?

Bettors interested in placing player props should click on the game they intend to wager and peruse the section that says “player props." If bettors want to place player-prop futures, they can click on the league they want to bet, click on the section that says “futures" and scroll to find the wager they wish to make.

Betway Player Props Rules

Player props at Betway carry rules. For instance:

  • Voids: Prop bets are voided if the player you wager on doesn’t play, and this includes futures prop markets like winning a full-season statistical award. However, if he/she does play at all and gets injured then all bets are live. Head-to-head player props are live as long as both players are in the lineup and an official game is completed.

Betway Prop Bets for NFL

Betway has more than 100 props for every NFL game, including a vast array of player props. Bettors can choose for a player to surpass a quarterback to throw for a certain number of touchdowns, surpass his pre-determined passing-yards prop, run for a certain number of yards or toss an interception.

But there’s more. Gamblers interested can wager on rushing, receiving, tackles and other statistical props, as well as touchdown props — meaning a player to score the first, last or an anytime touchdown in a particular game.

Betway has boosted props too in its Betway Boosts section, which entices bettors to choose props at more lucrative odds.

For instance, if Aaron Rodgers’ over/under for touchdown passes in a game against the Detroit Lions is 2.5, and the standard odds are -110, Betway may boost that to +120. That means if Rodgers threw for three-plus TDs, bettors would win $12 for every $10 bet instead of $9.09.

Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is the Super Bowl of prop betting for all the different types of bets available, nevermind Super Bowl bonuses - and Betway doesn’t disappoint. The sportsbook has novelty props as well as its regular assortment of player and game props for the big game. Plus, bettors can wager on futures year-round for NFL teams to both reach the Super Bowl and be the club that hoists the Lombardi Trophy in mid-February.

Best Betway Prop Bets

With competitive odds and hundreds of prop wagers available, it can be overwhelming to determine which prop wagers are the best on Betway. But the best props are the ones that are most conducive to our betting style. For instance, if you love player props, target those and cash in when they hit. If you prefer placing your money on first-half or first-quarter bets, Betway has those too.

If you’d rather commit to game props, Betway has a slew of markets that are good for that as well. If your goal is to max out your profit, try boosted props.

Betway has all these and more at your disposal. Do your homework, take the time to find the wagers you love, and you can be sure Betway will have what you’re looking for.

How to Find the Best Prop Bets

Do your homework. Spot trends and market inefficiencies and pounce when the opportunity is right.

Account for your player and team’s opponent. If you believe Mac Jones is poised to go off against the New York Jets that doesn’t mean he’ll do so the next week against the Buffalo Bills.

Also consider factors like injuries and weather. If a marquee lockdown defender is missing that will have an adverse effect on a team’s defense. If a team’s starting quarterback is out, and it doesn’t have a competent backup, that’ll jam up any kind of receiving prop. If there’s a blizzard or heavy rains, teams would be more apt to run the ball. If it’s cold in a baseball game, home runs will be harder to come by.

Prop Bet Strategies

Account for trends. If a star player has been struggling, it’s only a matter of time before he/she gets back to form. If a player is hot take into consideration the likelihood that he/she is due a regression.

The best prop betting advice is to take advantage of market inefficiencies. If a prop number looks too low, or too high, or the odds don’t align with what you think will happen, it is important to take advantage. For instance, I always remember betting Kyler Murray to surpass 51.5 rushing yards against the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 because I knew he loves playing at AT&T Stadium. He finished with 74 rushing yards, and that prop easily hit.

Do your homework too. I knew Murray was a great option in Dallas because he had never lost there and grew up in Northern Texas. I wouldn’t bet Murray to surpass a rushing prop if he was injured or if he was playing a team that was elite at stopping the run. Seek out trends and find the bets that make the most sense. They won’t always hit, but they’ll never be bad bets.

Prop Betting for Beginners

Start small. Place a small amount on a prop bet you really, really like. See how that goes. If you enjoyed it and it was successful try a larger wager on a more risky prop. Maybe try parlaying prop bets.

The best way to get comfortable is through trial and error. You’ll make mistakes, but that’s why sportsbooks like Betway give users playable funds to test the waters in the first place. The more comfortable you get the more you’ll enjoy perusing props and finding the ones that work best for your betting needs.

Last and definitely not least, before you place your bet shop around across different sportsbook options to find the best odds for your money.

How to Calculate Prop Odds?

Calculating prop odds are the same as calculating the odds on any wager. If a prop bet has plus-money odds that is the amount of profit a bettor will make in relation to a $100 wager. For instance, if a prop bet’s odds are +150 that means a $100 bet will fetch $150 in profit plus the initial stake back. The same math holds up for each corresponding amount you might wager — $50 produces $75 in profit, $10 bet equals $15 profit and so on.

If a prop’s odds are minus-money, that is the amount of money a bettor needs to wager to win $100 in profit. If a prop’s odds are -110, the going rate for most prop odds, that means the sportsbook is essentially deeming that bet as a coin flip and bettors will win about $0.91 for every $1 they wager. If a prop’s odds are -200, that means you’ll win $0.50 profit on every $1 bet.

Fortunately, Betway will calculate the final total you’ll win if you place your wager. But understanding odds is a great way to know whether the bet you’re placing is worth the risk in the first place.

Why Are Props a Good Bet?

Props are a good bet because they can still be right even if a bettor’s idea of the game is completely off. For instance, if you are an Atlanta Falcons fan, or New England Patriots hater, you would’ve been able to cash in on the Falcons winning the race to 21 in Super Bowl LI even though the Patriots famously rallied to win the game.

If you are a Patriots fan you could’ve cashed in on Tom Brady to surpass his passing-yards prop the next year in Super Bowl LII even though New England lost in memorable fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Can Props Be a Bad Bet?

The main factor for props going sideways is an injury, which feels personal even though it isn’t. If a player plays any time at all but is injured during game action his prop is still live even if he does not return.

Props can also be a bad bet if a player has an off game, which happens from time to time.

Plus, if you bet game props and your idea of what will happen is wrong, you will often times lose your bet.

What Sports Are Available for Props?

Every one. Even individual sports offer prop options, and sometimes sports like golf and tennis are actually the best sports to wager on prop bets.

Is There Bet Insurance on Props?

If you place your initial bonus bets wager on a prop bet, Betway will reimburse you in site credit for your lost wager. Plus, Betway does periodically offer prop-betting insurance, like fifth-set insurance for Wimbledon — which the sportsbook offered to wagerers who placed a Wimbledon bet.
