The Rams took care of business with a 20-12 victory over Cardinals in Week 3. The defense did a great job limiting Kyler Murray to only 5.4 yards per attempt.

The 49ers had a disappointing performance on the road in an 11-10 loss to the Broncos. Jimmy Garoppolo was sacked four times and threw one interception.

The two teams will now go at it in a pivotal NFC West clash.

Here’s a look at our favorite Los Angeles vs San Francisco betting tips for Monday Night Football.

Rams vs 49ers Odds

The 49ers come in as 2.5-point favorites here, which is a bit surprising considering they’re at home and have played the Rams tough in recent matchups.

The total looks about right with a 42.5-point number, as both defenses have been stout to open up the year.

Rams vs 49ers Implied Score

49ers 22.5, Rams 20

Bookmakers are projecting the 49ers to narrowly edge out the Rams in a low-scoring affair. This is a big game for San Francisco, who is looking to avoid a 1-3 start.

Monday Night Football Matchup

There’s a major injury to make note of for this game, as 49ers’ star left tackle Trent Williams is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain in the loss to Denver. This is one of the best offensive linemen in football, so this is a major loss for San Francisco.

It’s going to be difficult for the 49ers to get it going on offense here, especially against a Rams defense that really slowed down Murray and the Cardinals. Garoppolo will have to play mistake-free football with the defense stepping up to stifle Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp.

The good news for San Francisco is that George Kittle is fully healthy, giving Garoppolo a full assortment of pass-catchers to go along with Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. This is huge for an offense that needs all the help they can get right now.

On the other side, the Rams offense could be rendered one-dimensional with how dominant this 49ers’ run defense has been — San Francisco’s yielded just 2.91 yards per carry this season. Stafford could be forced into mistakes if their run game can’t get going, as he already has five interceptions on the year.

Monday Night Football Prediction

49ers 20, Rams 17

The 49ers badly need a win in this game, as a loss would put them at 1-3, two games behind the Rams for the division lead. Losing Williams will hurt in pass protection, but the team has enough pieces on offense to squeak out a win in this spot, especially with how good the defense has been.

Monday Night Football Bet Tips

Consider these Rams vs 49ers betting trends and possible angles for this NFC West clash:

  • 49ers games have averaged a combined score of 28 points per game.
  • Stafford threw five interceptions in two regular season games against this same 49ers defense last year.
  • The 49ers are 6-0 in the last six regular season matchups vs the Rams.

Monday Night Football Best Bets

49ers Moneyline (-126) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The 49ers have dominated this head-to-head matchup of late. I expect them to turn in a much better effort in this primetime game at home.

Monday Night Football Props

Under 42.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

San Francisco has played in three extremely low-scoring games so far this season. There’s no reason to expect that to change with Williams on the shelf.

Both of these defenses have played at a high level this year and 42.5 points looks like a high bar.

Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay

Best MNF Same-Game Parlay (+347) at FanDuel Sportsbook

  • San Francisco by 1-13 Pts
  • Under 42.5 Points

Points will be hard to come by in this game, so it’s hard to see the 49ers winning by two or more touchdowns here. We’ll take this winning margin prop to add more value to our Same Game Parlay. It’s tough to see San Francisco falling to a 1-3 start, given their Super Bowl aspirations.
