The Packers open as 2.5-point road favorites against an inferior Raiders team. While there’s a good chance that Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) will be back in action for the Raiders, Green Bay’s defense should also be bolstered by the likely return of standout cornerback Jaire Alexander.
The total comes in at 44.5 points, which feels a bit low for a Raiders game. This defense has struggled this season, ranking 30th in EPA per play allowed.

The Packers had some question marks coming into the season surrounding quarterback Jordan Love. Still, the former Utah State signal-caller has played relatively well, ranking 10th in EPA per play with eight touchdowns and three interceptions through four games.
What’s impressive is that most of this performance has come without Aaron Jones and Christian Watson. These are the two most explosive weapons on the Packers offense, each of whom returned in last week’s loss to the Lions. However, they were both on a snap count, which likely won’t be the case this week.
That’s great news against a Raiders’ defense that ranks 30th in EPA per play allowed vs the pass. We should see Love turn in a more efficient outing than we saw against the Lions.
Las Vegas will likely have more success through the air with Garoppolo back in the fold, who should continue feeding Davante Adams with targets, especially in his first game against his former team.
This game has the makings of a shootout.

Love had a tough time against the Lions because he was consistently pressured by stud edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson. While the Raiders have a standout rusher in Maxx Crosby, they still rank only 19th in pass-rush grade, per PFF.
We could see Love have more time in this one, which should allow the Packers to be more efficient on offense, setting up opportunities for big plays downfield to Watson.
Even though Alexander should help out the Packers pass defense, there’s a good chance that the Raiders will be able to move the ball on the ground with Josh Jacobs. The Packers rank 27th in Rush EPA, so this is the likely path for the Raiders to find success offensively.
This should be a close game, but I have the Packers edging out the Raiders here.

The reason why I’m so optimistic that Jimmy G will be back in action is because we’ve only seen players miss one game due to concussion. Some examples include Jakobi Meyers, Jaylen Waddle, and Anthony Richardson.
