Following a doubleheader in Week 7, Monday Night Football returns with one matchup on the slate for Week 8. The New York Giants (2-5) will look to get back on track with a win over the surging Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) on Monday, Oct. 28, at 8:15 p.m. ET.
New York had its worst outing of the season this past week, scoring three points and totaling 119 yards of offense in a loss to the Eagles. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh got a boost from QB Russell Wilson’s debut, defeating the visiting Jets 37-15.
How will this week’s Monday Night Football action go down? Here are the latest odds for Giants vs Steelers, plus my predictions and best bets for each game.
Updated MNF Odds Comparison
The Steelers are 6-point favorites over the Giants, which doesn’t come as a big surprise. These teams had polar opposite results in Week 7, with Pittsburgh scoring a season-high 37 points and New York registering a new season-low of three.

MNF Implied Scores & Team Totals
Steelers 21.5, Giants 15
An absurdly low total has the implied totals following suit. The Steelers are projected to score 21.5 points — a slight decrease compared to their average of 23 — while the Giants are expected to come in around 15 points, which is a notch below their 14.1 points per game.

Monday Night Football Prediction
MNF Score Prediction: Steelers 24, Giants 6
I’m wary of projecting blowouts, but the Giants have virtually nothing going for them right now, and things won’t get any easier against the Steelers. Pittsburgh finally appears to be finding its footing on offense, and combined with its second-ranked defense, this team is beginning to look like a genuine contender.
T.J. Watt’s pass rush remains the key to the equation for the Steelers, but this offense has produced 30-plus points in back-to-back games, and Wilson looked impressive in his first game. Justin Fields had looked more than capable in the weeks prior, but Wilson’s long ball opens up the field in ways that Fields can’t.
Pittsburgh should also find success on the ground behind Najee Harris, who has gone for 100-plus rushing yards in each of his last two appearances. New York is allowing a league-worst 5.4 yards per carry to opponents, so expect the Steelers to establish the run early.
On offense, the Giants are likely to struggle in all facets. Daniel Jones won’t be much of a rushing threat against a unit that ranks second in yards per attempt, and his inaccuracy through the air bodes well for Pittsburgh, which has already generated 13 takeaways.
Monday Night Football Bet Tips
Keep these bet tips and trends in mind before making your Monday Night Football bets.
- The Steelers are 5-2 against the spread, while the Giants are 3-4.
- Unders are a combined 10-4 for Pittsburgh (4-3) and New York (6-1).
- Overs are 7-3 on Monday Night Football this year.
Monday Night Football Best Bets
MNF Over/Under Pick: Giants @ Steelers Under 36.5 Points (-112)
This is one of the lowest totals I’ve seen all season, but it’s justified. The Giants have the third-worst offense in the NFL and have been outscored 45-10 over the last two weeks. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh boasts the league’s second-ranked defense, allowing an average of 14.4 points per game.
Given New York’s difficulty defending the run, I would expect an Arthur Smith-led offense to lean heavily on the ground game. That’s rarely conducive to the Over, and it isn’t in this case, either, as the Steelers don’t typically generate many yards per carry.
Between the poor matchup for the Giants and the expected game script, the Under is my best NFL bet today.
MNF Pick Against the Spread: Steelers -6 (-112) vs Giants
Pittsburgh has one of the NFL’s best records against the spread this season, and it should add another tally to the win column on Monday Night Football. This is a sizable spread, but the Steelers are playing their best football right now, and New York isn’t exactly a difficult matchup.
Monday Night Football Prop Bet
Najee Harris: Over 66.5 Rushing Yards (-115) vs Giants
It’s been a strong year for Harris, and he’s only looking better as the season goes on. The 26-year-old RB has gone Over this 66.5-yard total in five of his first seven games, and he’s gone for 100-plus rushing yards in each of his last two. Coincidentally, when Harris goes Under 66.5 rushing yards, the Steelers are 0-2.
Fortunately for Pittsburgh, this is an excellent matchup for him. The Giants are allowing 5.4 yards per carry to opposing teams, which ranks dead-last in the NFL. Moreover, backup RB Cordarrelle Patterson is out with an ankle injury, so Harris will only have to split snaps with Jaylen Warren.
Monday Night Football Parlay
Best MNF Parlay (+625)
- Steelers -6 (-112)
- Under 36.5 Points (-112)
- Najee Harris: Anytime TD (+110)
My best parlay for Monday Night Football kicks off with the Steelers covering as 6-point favorites. I don’t expect New York to be particularly competitive in this matchup, and Pittsburgh has been terrific against the spread this season (5-2).
I’m also siding with the Under at 36.5 points. The Steelers have put up 30-plus in each of their last two games, but assuming they take a run-heavy approach here, they may not score as often. Meanwhile, the Giants have scored 10 total points over the last two weeks.
Given New York’s vulnerability against the run, I’m looking for Najee Harris to score a touchdown. He’s found the end zone in two straight appearances, and he’s also been a factor in the passing game this season, which helps his case if the Giants find a way to hold him in check on the ground.
