MNF Score Prediction: 49ers 24, Panthers 13
There are good vibes around the Panthers and Bryce Young after the second-year quarterback threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns last week. But that game is a complete outlier compared to how Young and the Carolina offense have performed this season.
In their four previous games, the Panthers averaged just 11.3 points per game, albeit with Andy Dalton starting one of those games. The bottom line is the Panthers shouldn’t expect similar results this week, even against a rather average San Francisco defense.
On the other side, Brock Purdy shouldn’t be expected to light up the scoreboard, even after guiding the 49ers to 41 points last week.
Nevertheless, he was efficient and mistake-free in his return from injury last week. He should get enough help from Christian McCaffrey for San Francisco to win by a comfortable margin.

This pick also goes against the grain because the 49ers have struggled to find consistency this year and win back-to-back games. However, the return of Brock Purdy from injury should help with that.

McCaffrey has been the ultimate dual-threat running back this season, even by his standards.
He actually has more receiving yards than rushing yards, showing just how important he is to San Francisco’s passing attack. That didn’t change last week with Purdy back at quarterback, and it shouldn’t change on Monday.
With McCaffrey averaging 130.8 rushing and receiving yards per game this season, he should have no problem matching or exceeding that number against the Panthers.

Finally, Carolina has failed to score more than 20 points six times this year, including four of its last five games, meaning the Panthers won’t be able to replicate last week’s success.
