The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 9, to open their respective NFL seasons. With new quarterbacks under center for each squad, this could end up being one of the more intriguing matchups on the Week 1 slate.
Both teams are entering the year with high aspirations and will be eager to kick things off with a win.
Let’s get into the latest Steelers vs Falcons odds and break down the action.

Steelers vs Falcons Prediction
Steelers 23, Falcons 17
The big question coming into this contest is how each team’s offense will look with a new quarterback calling the signals. For Pittsburgh, that’ll be Russell Wilson — and possibly some Justin Fields — while Atlanta will be hoping for a strong campaign from Kirk Cousins.
Pittsburgh also brought in former Falcons coach Arthur Smith with the intention of improving upon an offense that ranked 28th in scoring in 2023. Atlanta struggled in that regard last year too, but Cousins should help elevate young skill players in Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts.
With that said, I expect there to be some growing pains, so the team with the superior defense may have the advantage early on. Assuming the Steelers can continue to generate turnovers (eighth in 2023), they should put themselves in the driver’s seat by halftime and ride out a narrow victory.

Steelers vs Falcons Best Bets
Steelers Moneyline (+145) @ Falcons
This is expected to be a tight matchup, so I like the value of backing the Steelers as a plus-money underdog. Pittsburgh went 9-2 in one-score games this past season (Atlanta was 4-6), so a competitive game script should favor the visiting team.
Back the Steelers to get started with a win with your NFL bet of the day.
Under 42 Points (-110)
As mentioned above, I don’t expect either of these offenses to look hot out of the gate. It’s never easy to adjust to having a new quarterback, and these weren’t exactly prolific scorers last season, either.
Unders were a combined 21-14 for the Steelers and Falcons in 2023. Expect more of the same early in the season.
