One of Week 3’s premier matchups sees the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) taking on the New Orleans Saints (2-0) this Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. ET.
Philadelphia has gotten off to a hot start offensively, but it hasn’t been able to keep opponents from putting up similar totals. Meanwhile, New Orleans has been the NFL’s most surprising team thus far, averaging 45.5 points in dominant victories over the Panthers and Cowboys.
Will the Saints continue rolling when they host the Eagles? Here are the latest Eagles vs Saints odds, plus my best bets and predictions for this Week 3 showdown.

Can anyone stop the Saints? This team is firing on all cylinders right now and dominating in every facet of the game. New Orleans ranks first in both passing touchdowns (five) and rushing (six), and its defense has only given up one of each.
Alvin Kamara has (expectedly) been the key to the offense, accumulating a league-best 290 yards from scrimmage and five total touchdowns. Derek Carr is also thriving in Klint Kubiak’s system, completing 30 out of 39 pass attempts for 443 yards and five touchdowns.
That doesn’t bode well for the Eagles, who have allowed opponents to score 25.5 points per game — the sixth-highest mark in the NFL. Philadelphia has been incapable of stopping the run (league-worst 6.4 yards per attempt) and also ranks within the bottom five in passing yards and touchdowns.
We can expect the Eagles to continue to lean on the ground game — especially if A.J. Brown remains sidelined — but that might not be enough to keep up with the red-hot Saints. New Orleans has also been terrific against the run, though this figures to be its most difficult challenge to date.
Until proven otherwise, the Saints should be considered among the NFL’s best teams. I’m looking for New Orleans to come out on top in another high-scoring game.

Saints -2.5 (-120) vs Eagles
On top of looking like the inferior team, the Eagles enter this contest on short rest after losing to the Falcons on Monday Night Football in Week 2. The Saints also have home-field advantage, although they didn’t need it to steamroll the Cowboys in their last outing.
Until we see some cracks in New Orleans’ foundation — or at least until there’s an opponent that matches up with them better — I would continue backing them against the spread. The Saints are an easy 2-0 ATS thus far, and I’m comfortable putting money on them improving to 3-0 with my NFL bet of the day.
Over 49.5 Points (-110)
No defense has been equipped to slow New Orleans this season, and the Eagles don’t look like prime candidates, either. This is currently the best offense in the NFL, and the Saints have demonstrated that they can score in a variety of ways.
At the same time, I could see Philadelphia giving New Orleans its toughest defensive challenge so far. Both teams should post relatively high totals and help push this one beyond 49.5 points.
