Giants vs Dolphins Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Oct 4, 2023

This Week 5 matchup between the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins is a clash of two teams trending in different directions. The Giants have gotten off to a brutal 1-3 start after reaching the NFC Divisional Round in the NFL Playoffs last season.

On the other hand, the Dolphins have taken the league by storm with their high-powered offense en route to starting the season 3-1 with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looking like a legitimate MVP candidate.

Giants vs Dolphins Odds

NFL odds used for this New York vs Miami preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of date and time ET.

  • Moneyline: Dolphins (-575) • Giants (+425)
  • Spread: Dolphins -11 (-110) • Giants +11 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 49.5 (-112) • Under 49.5 (-108)
  • Implied Score: Dolphins 30.5, Giants 18.5

Giants vs Dolphins Predictions

Score Pick: Dolphins 37, Giants 17

The Giants are currently a bottom-three defense in terms of opponent points per game, giving up 30.5 points per week. The Dolphins currently rank first in the NFL in points per game, averaging 37.5 points per game.

It’s not rocket science. The Giants’ inability to contain opposing offenses, combined with the Dolphins boasting the most electrifying offense in the NFL, sets up perfectly for the Dolphins to continue their dominant offensive ways.

The Giants are also the lowest-scoring team in the NFL through the season’s first four weeks, averaging just 11.5 points per game. They won’t stand a chance if/when the time comes for them to exchange scores with the Dolphins offense.

If Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and stud left tackle Andrew Thomas cannot return from injury for Week 5, the sledding will only get tougher for Daniel Jones and the Giants.

Giants vs Dolphins Best Bets & Props

Dolphins Win Both Halves (+100)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 2 units

The Dolphins should have no problem winning the first half. Through the first four weeks of the season, the Giants have failed to score a first-half touchdown en route to being outscored 77-9 in the first half of games.

The second half of games hasn’t fared much better for the Giants, minus the second-half comeback over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. The team has also been outscored 45-37 in the second half of games, with 31 of those second-half points coming against the Cardinals.

As double-digit favorites, the Dolphins will pull away early and control the game, making this my NFL bet of the day.

Giants Under 17.5 (-110)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

As mentioned earlier, the Giants currently rank last in the NFL in points per game (11.5). They have scored 12 points or less in three of their first four games and failed to score a touchdown in two of those games.

Even if Saquon Barkley can return for the Giants, he will not be at full strength as he continues to nurse a nagging high-ankle sprain. Per Giants head coach Brian Daboll, Andrew Thomas is closer to doubtful than questionable regarding his Week 5 playing status.

It could be another rough day at the office for Daniel Jones and Co.

Dolphins -16.5 Alternate (+151)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 units

All three of the Giants losses have been by 18-plus points. The offense has gotten off to extremely slow starts, and the defense hasn’t been able to make stops and get off the field.

After being blown out by their divisional rival Buffalo Bills, the Dolphins will return home to face the Giants with a chip on their shoulder. The Giants will be a punching bag for a Dolphins team looking to get back on track.

Giants vs Dolphins Same Game Parlay

Giants vs Dolphins SGP (+192)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: .5 units

  • Dolphins -16.5 Alternate (+151)
  • Giants Under 17.5 (-110)

Here, we are doubling down on the Dolphins winning in blowout fashion, combined with the Giants’ inability to score points. The Dolphins can light up the scoreboard quickly, as exemplified by them becoming just the fourth team in NFL history to score 70-plus points in a single game this season.

The Giants offensive line has been unable to keep Daniel Jones upright sans Andrew Thomas. That trend could continue in Week 5, given Brian Daboll’s comments regarding Thomas’ availability for this Sunday.

If Jones continues to not have time to navigate the field and progress through his reads, points will be hard to come by for this offense.
