Cowboys vs Vikings Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Nov 17, 2022

The 8-1 Minnesota Vikings will host the 6-3 Dallas Cowboys in the late window on the NFL Week 11 slate.

While the Cowboys are coming off of an emotionally draining, letdown loss at the hands of the Packers on the road last week, the Vikings enter Week 11 after an equally exhausting road victory at the Bills.

This game could come down to the team who is better rested and prepared with the shortest memory.

Let’s take a look at my Dallas vs Minnesota best bets and betting tips for Week 11.

Cowboys vs Vikings Odds

As of Tuesday afternoon at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cowboys are 1.5-point favorites on the road, despite Minnesota being two games better in the win-loss column. The game total is set 47.5 points.

This could indicate bookmakers are taking into consideration that Kirk Cousins is 2-8 in his career against the Cowboys, dating back to his days in Washington.

Take a look at the best Cowboys odds and Vikings odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Cowboys vs Vikings Implied Totals

Cowboys 24.50, Vikings 23

Both teams deploy high-octane offenses along with questionable defenses. Although the Dallas defense was stingy for most of the year, they have been hashed for 60 points in the past two games.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ offense has picked it up in the three-game period since Dak Prescott returned from his injury, totaling 101 points and a 33.7 ppg average since Week 8.

Cowboys vs Vikings Prediction

Cowboys 30, Vikings 27

While both the Cowboys and Vikings are coming off Week 10 games that ended in overtime on the road, the Cowboys have the slight edge.

We have seen the Dallas defense play at an elite level for most of this season, despite taking a step back in the past two games. This means Dan Quinn could get his unit back on track against a statuesque Kirk Cousins and an off-balance offensive line.

We also know that historically, Cousins has struggled against the Cowboys, posing a 2-8 record in his career against them.

And although the Cowboys and Vikings have faced off four times in the Dak Prescott era, Prescott is only 1-1 in those games. The Cowboys won two of those games with backups Cooper Rush and Andy Dalton.

Since both of these teams match up well, this is a game that could come down to the team with the ball in its hands last. Sacks and turnovers will also play a role here.

Both defenses are top units in takeaways, yet both offenses rarely give the ball away.

Considering recent history, the Vikings are due for a letdown and the Cowboys have been a thorn in Cousins’ side similar to how Aaron Rodgers has been a thorn in the Cowboys’ side forever. We saw how that turned out last week.

Cowboys vs Vikings Bet Tips

Here are a few Cowboys vs Vikings betting trends to consider before making your bets:

  • Kirk Cousins is 2-8 in his career against the Cowboys, losing each of his past two games against them.
  • The Cowboys are 4-1 straight up in their past five meetings against the Vikings, winners of two straight.
  • The Cowboys have won their past three games in Minnesota.
  • The Vikings are 3-0-1 in their past four games overall.
  • The road team is 4-1 against the spread in the past five meetings between the Cowboys and Vikings.

Cowboys vs Vikings Best Bets

Cowboys Moneyline (-124) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Both the Cowboys and Vikings are nearly evenly matched despite Minnesota being the superior team in the standings. When it comes to handicapping this game, the moneyline is the way to go since Dallas’ number is not juiced.

History is on the side of the Cowboys here as Dallas has won each of their past three games played in Minnesota, while Kirk Cousins has historically struggled in these matchups.

All of a sudden, this is a must-win spot for the Cowboys. While the NFC East is now up for grabs since the Eagles lost on Monday Night Football, this could also play a role in Wild Card seeding in the NFC as all three of the Cowboys’ losses are in-conference.

Over 47.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Since Dak Prescott returned from his injury, the Cowboys have been scoring points, picking up where they left off as one of the league’s best-scoring offenses in 2021 after a slow start to 2022 overall. Consequently, the Dallas defense has also struggled of late, notably, in the past two games.

Both the Vikings and Cowboys offenses have been on fire with no signs of slowing down. While the Over is 2-1 in the past three games the Vikings have played, the Over is 3-1 in the Cowboys’ past four.

Unless one of these offenses faceplants this week, points will fly, making the Over the play.
