Broncos vs Jaguars Predictions & Odds

Last Updated: Oct 30, 2022

After losing four-straight games, the Jacksonville Jaguars open up as the “home favorites" against the Denver Broncos in London. Trevor Lawrence has been starting to heat up and maybe this entire Jaguars offense just needed a bit of a restart after all of the drama and issues they had last year.

Whatever the case may be, the Jaguars have been playing better than their 2-5 record might show.

As for the Broncos, they’ve been a major disappointment and not many people would’ve guessed they’d be underdogs heading into this one. The Broncos are currently in last place in the AFC West with a 2-5 record.

This will be a fun matchup in London to kick Sunday off, featuring two teams who have lost four-straight games.

Jacksonville has played in London more than any other team in the NFL with eight total games, and they’re 4-4. Most recently, they beat the Dolphins last year in London 23-20.

Broncos vs Jaguars Odds

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Jaguars are the favorites this week against the Broncos who were initially not expected to have Russell Wilson. This Broncos offense has struggled all season long, and Wilson just doesn’t look like his old self.

Maybe this is partly due to his partially torn hamstring injury that was recently announced. Either way, Wilson is now in fact expected to play, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see him miss some time in this one.

Take a look at the best Broncos odds and Jaguars odds for the 2022 NFL season.

Broncos vs Jaguars Implied Totals

Jaguars 20.5, Broncos 17.5

At just 39.5 points, the oddsmakers are expecting this matchup to be the lowest-scoring one on the slate for the week. With Wilson and Denver’s recent struggles, I tend to agree.

Broncos vs Jaguars Prediction

Jaguars 20, Broncos 13

Jacksonville has played much better this year than their record shows. They took down the Chargers on the road, putting up 38 points. Against the Eagles, they had a very respectable matchup, losing 29-12. They’ve lost some tough ones but should be able to handle the Broncos this week and put a stop to their losing streak.

The Broncos have been bad this year, there’s no sugarcoating it. Wilson has been a disappointment and this talented group of offensive weapons has struggled all around. At this point, it really can’t be much worse, and the bright spot for the Broncos has been their defense.

Lawrence has been coming into his own, most recently putting up his first 300-plus passing yard game of the season last week against the Giants. He has already run for three touchdowns this year, which is something he only did twice in his entire rookie season.

The Jaguars team traded the talented running back James Robinson to the Jets this week, which wasn’t too shocking as the Jets just lost Breece Hall and the Jaguars have been giving the lead back duties over to Travis Etienne.

I’m banking on Lawrence and this Jaguars offense to get back on track with a win this week. They should be able to handle the Broncos and Wilson, and the Jaguars’ defense has been solid enough that they’ll slow the Broncos down.

I’ll be taking the Jaguars to win this one by a touchdown.

Broncos vs Jaguars Bet Tips

Two of the biggest factors that will go into this matchup will be Wilson and his struggles, as well as the Broncos’ stout defense. Lawrence and this offense have been able to put points up when needed this year, but they haven’t faced a tough defense really since Week 4 in Philadelphia.

Don’t expect a ton of scoring this week as the Broncos have given up the fourth-fewest total passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this year with 1,212. On top of that, they’ve given up the fewest passing touchdowns in the league with just three.

Here are some Broncos vs Jaguars betting trends to consider before placing your bets:

  • Both the Broncos and Jaguars are 2-5 against the spread this year.
  • Six of the last seven Broncos games have gone Under the point total.
  • The total has gone Under in 5/5 of the last games where the Broncos played the Jaguars on the road.

Broncos vs Jaguars Best Bets

Under 39.5 Points (-110) at BetFred Sportsbook

I’m expecting this slow start that we’ve seen in the 2022 NFL season to continue Sunday morning. The Broncos give up just 286 yards of offense per game to opposing NFL teams, the second-fewest in the league behind just the Bills. The Jaguars give up 348.4, which is near the middle.

Neither team gives up a ton of points per game this year. Between the defenses, Wilson’s struggles, and the way this NFL season has gone so far, the Under is the safe bet here.

Jaguars -2.5 (-115) at BetFred Sportsbook

The Jaguars may have the same record as the Broncos, but I’m fully expecting them to get back on track and handle Denver this week. I’ll be taking the Jaguars to win by at least a field goal.
