Read Nate Hamilton’s Week 4 DraftKings Picks for DFS.
The key to building a tournament-winning DraftKings DFS lineup is to find value pricing on players who are set up to succeed each week.
The purpose of this article is to help you define which players you should be adding to your DFS lineups on the cheap, which will allow you to fill your remaining lineup with some elite chalk options.
Each week, I will give you a discount player at each position (QB, RB, WR, TE, DST) to help you build your winning lineup.
Now, let’s jump into my DraftKings DFS value picks for Week 4!
Week 4 DraftKings Picks
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions ($5,900) vs. New Orleans Saints
Matthew Stafford hasn’t been his best through the first three weeks of the season. He has faced some tougher defenses than he will see this week against the Saints. He has also been without his top receiver, Kenny Golladay, in the first two games.
Well, it’s a new week — Golladay’s second game back from injury, after a 6-catch, 57-yard, 1-TD Week 3 — and things are setting up to be a highly productive day for Stafford. He draws the Saints’ defense that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Saving money on Stafford should afford you the opportunity to stack him with his top WR.
Running Back
Darrell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams ($5,800) vs. New York Giants
Darrell Henderson has exploded the past couple of weeks. While Cam Akers deals with a rib injury, Henderson has accumulated 32 carries for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns the last two weeks. Yet, he is still priced at a value.
Coach Sean McVay has said that Akers’ injury isn’t coming along as quickly as anticipated. This places doubt in his Week 4 status. Regardless, if Akers is able to suit up, Henderson should still see the bulk of carries this week against the Giants defense that ranks 24th against running backs in 2020.
Wide Receiver
Scotty Miller ($4,100) or Justin Watson ($3,400), Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Chris Godwin is expected to miss Week 4 and possibly longer with a hamstring injury. This opens up volume opportunities for one of Miller, one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets. Over the first three weeks, Brady has targeted Miller 14 times (currently the second-highest total on the team).
It is worth noting that Miller missed practice on Wednesday dealing with a hip and groin injury. Watson played the majority of his team’s snaps (89%) when Godwin missed Week 2.
If Watson (who was out last week due to a shoulder injury) is cleared to play, he could be a sneaky option to consider as well. He did return to practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign he’ll be good to go this week and possibly become a must-play option if Miller sits.
Tight End
T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions ($4,800) vs. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have given up the most points to the TE position. Even Aaron Rodgers couldn’t help himself and threw to three different tight ends last week, resulting in a collective 9 reception, on 10 targets, for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Hockenson is a much better tight end than the three Packers’ tight ends combined. He’s caught 13 of his 16 targets for 171 yards and a touchdown this season. He has yet to have fewer than 50 receiving yards in a game and should see more open lanes with Kenny Golladay back on the field.
I’m expecting Stafford to throw the ball a ton against the Saints this week, which is why I highly suggest loading up the triple stack of Stafford, Golladay, Hockenson in DFS.
Defense/Special Teams
Baltimore Ravens ($4,000) @ Washington Football Team
“Nate, this is supposed to be a value-pick article."
I know, I know. Typically, you should never pay up for a defense, but given the options in Week 4, the Baltimore Ravens will be worth $4K of your budget.
They play Dwayne Haskins and the struggling Football Team this week. The Ravens are coming off a difficult loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and will look to take out their frustrations on a substandard opponent.
Besides, if you choose to play most of the options I have provided, you’ll still have plenty of money to add a few elite options to further beef up your lineups this week.
