Week 15 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers: Chuma Okeke Carrying Magic

Last Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Kev Mahserejian offers up his Week 15 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers, and his NBA Week 15 Sleeper Picks might include waiver-wire pickups who’ve fallen through the cracks into free agency. Roster percentages refer to figures from Yahoo! Sports fantasy basketball leagues.

Week 15 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Chuma Okeke, SF/PF, Orlando Magic (50% rostered)

Okeke is not much of a “sleeper" anymore but if you are in one of the 50% of leagues he is available in, fix that. He is basically the offense for the Orlando Magic with Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon out of town. Wendell Carter Jr. is also stepping up since his ascension to the starting lineup but Okeke is the “guy".

Since March 24th, Okeke is averaging 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.7 blocks, and 2 threes on a 52.4% field goal percentage and 92.3% free throw. He was Orlando’s first-round pick in 2019 and finally has an opportunity to shine after sitting out his rookie season due to a torn ACL suffered in college.

Okeke has been playing at his rightful position of power forward and should continue to do so rest-of-season. Orlando literally has no reason to limit him - winning isn’t a priority.

Tomas Satoransky, PG/SG, Chicago Bulls (31% rostered)

Since his insertion into the Bulls’ starting lineup, Tomas Satoransky is averaging 10.8 points, 6.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 threes, 1.4 steals, a 53.2% FG and 94.4% FT. He is an efficient scorer and should remain so to a certain degree given that he is opportunistic rather than a chucker. Playing next to Zach LaVine and recently acquired Nikola Vucevic certainly helps.

You are buying Satoransky for his assists, steals, and efficiency, the rest is just a cherry on top. If Satoransky averages fewer than double-digit points per game later on or is relegated back to the bench, you can drop him.

Malachi Flynn, PG, Toronto Raptors (11% rostered)

With Kyle Lowry (foot) out due to a foot infection and Fred Van Vleet DTD, Malachi Flynn, the Raptors’ first-round pick from the most recent NBA Draft is set for more action. He has been moderately involved over the past few weeks and saw 31 minutes of game action in the most recent Raptors outing. However, that was a result of Van Vleet leaving the game rather than any set plan for Flynn’s increased involvement.

Flynn scored efficiently scored 16 points and added 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. This output is unlikely to continue moving forward but in a role where he sees roughly 25 minutes per game, it is completely possible to be fantasy relevant. The Raptors STINK being 5 games out of the 8th spot in the East with only 2 wins in their past 10 games. At any moment could shut down their starters. If this were to be the case, Flynn and other rotation players for Toronto would see an uptick in minutes and usage.
